Has anybody ever been to therapy? How did it work out for you?
My friend recommended that I see a therapist instead of a psychiatrist because I have "real" problems instead of a chemical imbalance. I'm reluctant to spend the money and be pressured tell my secrets to a stranger while the clock is ticking down. Is there any benefit?

Depends on what it is for, it can either be very helpful or worthless.

I've never trusted things like therapy, seems like psuedoscience.

Yes, group therapy. It resulted in an awful ongoing identity crisis and made me hate myself even more. Discharged with a nasty diagnosis and fuck-off-and-die-alone attitude.

>>572I second this. Make sure your comfortable with it. You don't have to go if you don't like it but if you want to give it a chance give it the best chance you can and it should be helpful.
Best of luck!
