As one of those people, it isn't wrong. The approach is harsh, but the core message is solid. Before watching it, I figured I'd experience catharsis. I put it on such a tall pedestal since everyone recommended it. I'm not sure if it was my high hopes that led me to see it as average or if really was just another average anime. I don't regret watching it but it's hype isn't warranted.
