Something I find noteworthy about the MGTOW group is the split in it's community. I've seen some youtube channels with more moderate members that just advertized prioritizing your own interests over the hunt for females. Second, just because you don't hear it that often in your everyday life doesn't mean that hardly anyone uses it. Just like almost everything in any language, common practice changes with location.
Third, you probably don't realize how often you actually hear it. I find that a lot of people don't even think about it, and are confused when I mention the singular they, until I give them an example and they realize that it sounded natural to them.
Fourth, I find that a lot of people have this confusion because they hear 'singular they' and they think you mean something like "they is happy", which is wrong, the singular they is still conjugated as the plural they, the only difference is in what it refers to. I'm not saying that this necessarily applies to you, but it might so I thought I'd mention it.
Fifth, you seem to believe that the singular they is an invention of sjws like xir and hir are. It isn't. Infact it predates feminism all together. Even Shakespeare used it, for example " 'Tis meet that some more audience than a mother, since nature makes THEM partial, should o'erhear the speech."
Sixth, because you asked, yes, 'them' can be singular as well. Because singular they is morphologically exactly the same as plural they, it has all the same forms. 'Them' is the direct and indirect object firm of they, so just as you would say "he beat them" with the plural they, you could say "he beat them" with the singular they. You could also say "they beat themselves", the reflexive form of they, with singular or plural they.
Seventh, the image itself pisses me off as well. For three reasons. One, that it's retarded sjw bullshit. Two, that it's people actively trying to censor and manipulate a natural language (this is literally Orwellian). But three, it's because its usage of the singular they is wrong. The singular they isn't a personal pronoun, and it isn't gender actually gender neutral. The singular they is gender AMBIGUOUS, which is to say, you use it exclusively to refer to a person whose gender you do not know. This is why you are familiar with it as being used in hypothetical situations where the person could be either gender, but it also can be used to refer to a real person whose gender you don't know. Eighth, you're right, even for real people, you have to establish it with a noun or proper noun (but not a pronoun. 'nigger' is, unfortunately, not a pronoun, btw.) But, the same is also true of he, she, and it, and any other third person subject pronoun, singular or plural, you could come up with besides the singular hypothetical 'one'. I was devasted. But I did not make a scene or something. I just told her that this really hurts me.
And she said she does not care at all.
This woman I got so emotionally attached with did not care at all when I was completely destroyed. I never wanted to even talk to her in the first place. She forced me. She kept bothering me until I grew soft.
And when she knew she could have me, she just dropped me. She seemed to take delight in that. Like it was completely obvious how apathetic she was to my suffering; I could not comprehend this, we knew each other, we were friends, I told her my secrets;
If I had seen some stranger in the street in a way that she seen me at that moment I would have taken great pity on him. I would have tried to comfort a complete stranger in such a pathetic state and she, who I deemed my friend just laughed at me. Then she told me to fuck of lest she get angry.
