yeah that gurren laggan part got me right in the feels since I didn't see it coming.

I've never cried over any anime or movie though. Emotionally stirred perhaps, but never got to the point of crying to this day.

Grisaia no kajitsu.

not because of the incredibly emotional scenes, the epic plot twists and immense depth, but because of how they butchered the story and the characters past episode 1.
