On right, it seems like that it's the board for absolute beginners, so here's a general question: what should I do if I can't find a good torrent for a series? Or if I can't even find a list of all episodes?
Should I give up and watch it online? Where?

 No.2135

The only reason I use torrents is because /a/ told me they're better. Even when when I can only find old, small, pixelated(probably because I installed something wrong, but why should I search for all those codecs on my own with no help just to watch cartoons?)ones, and have to decide between 50 versions and sub groups, but refuse to watch the Youtube upload of the whole series in HD.
Have you tried http://bakabt.me/ or http://www.nyaa.se/ for what you're looking for? Because I think those are the best anime torrent sites. If you can't find it there, just try Youtube, fuck what /a/ says this is an emergency. If it's not there buy the DVD's?. If that doesn't cut it, if it has no English DVD's, no torrent, no upload, I guess give up.

Oh yeah, you can't search for a show from the main page of BakaBT without an account, so just google the show and bakabt to get pass it.

Surprisingly, rutracker.org has an assload of anime with english subs, and with many seeders. If an anime you're interested in is banned from bakabt and has no seeds on nyaa, try rutracker. You gotta register to download, and you can find in google registration guides in english.
>can't even find a list of all episodes?
As a rule of thumb, use aniDB for that. If it has a list of episodes - the anime has at the very least raws available. If there is no list - there are most likely no raws.

So the users at BakaBT argue and discuss which fansub/encode version is the best and use that one instead of others.

I usually just download whatever one they decide is the best but what do I do when the anime I want has been taken down from BakaBT?

How am I supposed to know what fansub/encode version is the best without taking time testing each one individually?

What I did was spent hours of going through halfchan's /a/'s archives researching codec packs and obscure groups, I would just end up going fuck it and pick up a random sub.
