KLK and Tengen Toppa were really similar, so you'll have to specify why you liked one and not the other. For now I'd recommend JoJo and Shin Mazinger Z.

I watched KLK first and just recently watched TTGL, and I think that's the best way to do it as the two shows are on vastly different scales. I also loved TTGL even though I knew the big spoiler thing that everyone cried about, except me, because I was spoiled. Goddamit.

TTGL is my favorite anime and I also somewhat disliked KLK.

Practically everything from TTGL is ripped from other anime. In terms of the hot blooded action it strongly references GaoGaiGar, Getter Robo, Gunbuster, and maybe G Gundam which I haven't seen. And possibly Needless which was running as a manga.
The Getter Robo series most will recommend for a TTGL fan is New Getter Robo, because the plot has a few more similarities. I did not enjoy any of the Getter series I checked out, personally, for a lack of connecting with the characters.
And if you decide not to watch Gunbuster and somehow stumble upon Diebuster, you should definitely watch Gunbuster first even if you don't enjoy it.

I also recommend Symphogear and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

For a more tenuous definition of hot blooded hype action (It's there if you read it that way) I would also recommend Saki and Heartcatch Precure.

and I'm not sure if this can really be called actiony but Basquash resembles TTGL a lot.

Symphogear is pretty good.
Also, Gunbuster/Diebuster.
