>>3013For what it is, SAO is a decent action show but certainly nothing more, so I'd say you should watch season 1 if you have nothing else to watch. In my opinion the show should've ended after episode 13/14 because the second arc pretty much have no reason to exist. There is nothing that had to be explained or that wasn't concluded except for the question why the game publisher did what he did (i don't want to spoiler you).
And don't even bother watching the second season, it has basically nothing to do with the original Sword Art Online and is not really interesting.
I can recommend you Log Horizon. That's pretty much the same thing but focuses more on the fact how the people can "survive" in an MMORPG world, rather than trying to escape the game, and personally i think it's thousand times better than SAO but that just my opinion.
