Try looking past the first 10 charts the next time.

Because they're just lists of anime and don't talk about what they are or what type of person might like them. They're just lifeless lists, If I wanted that I could look in categories of anime sites.

The reason you're being recommended charts is because they're as good as any recommendation anyone can give. You don't know what kind of anime you like so how is anyone supposed to give you a tailored recommendation? Watch at least 4-5 different shows, then you'll be able to ask for more like the ones you liked. There are several charts of anime generally considered good with descriptions of why that is, pick and watch a couple series.

If you actually have questions about something on a chart, you can ask, but you're making a big deal out of things that are often just 12-13 episodes long, and it's not like you have to finish them even if you really hate the series.
