I've looked on the chart thread but there isn't a chart specifically for shoujo romance manga/anime, just for shoujo in general. I just have no idea where to start.

Josei is probably okay too, I guess.

Not so much a harem, but I think Taiyou no Ie is the pinnacle of the shoujou genera.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun was pretty good. Also, some general shoujo/josei romance shows:

Nodame Cantabile

Kimi ni Todoke

Honey and Clover

Paradise Kiss

Although none of them are reverse harems. I honestly don't think I've heard of any decent reverse harems.

It started alright but it seems like the author didn't really knew what to do with the characters after introducing them.

I'd say it's still worth watching though.

Well he was certainly aware that other girls were interested in him but that seems to be a common trend in most shoujo anime/manga.
