This probably is asked a lot but can you guys recommend me the best anime films(yes, i know that best is subjective?

I haven't seen almost any anime. Naruto about 8 years ago and about 3 Miyazaki films. And I just saw Akira and it left me with a desire to watch more anime but less gory-ish.

Everything by studio ghibli.

Everything by Satoshi Kon (Paprika, Perfect blue..)

Everything by Mamoru Oshii (Akira, Patlabor, Ghost in the Shell)

Everything by Makoto Shinkai (5 cm per second, voices of a distant star...)

And then you've got assorted stuff like

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade

The girl who leapt through time

wings of honneamise

The End of Evangelion (you're going to have to watch eva first though)

Metropolis

REDLINE

I'm also told Macross: do you remember love is up there with the best but I haven't watched it.

Also lupin III: the castle of Cagliastro is a Miyazaki film pre Ghibli.

This should be a good start, have fun watching. I trust you'll pick only the very best torrents, this is anime at its very finest, the animation alone is enough to set them apart.

Protip: Google "Bakabt Name of the Movie" and grab the release with the biggest file size. If the torrent isn't downloading its probably cuz your torrent client is blacklisted, qbittorent works fine.

thanks bro

Can you recommend me something more fantasy-esq? I mean something like naruto, death note you know but in movies.

I can't really think of any standalone movies like that, they're usually too short for the purpose. You still can get them but they'll be tied to a franchise. Popular frachises like DB, Naruto, Bleach, One piece, Death note, index get movies. So you can watch those, but I'm also going to recommend FLCL as you seem to like MC centered anime.

thanks again m8

> FLCL

this looks great

you know I just discovered OAV/OVA and maybe there are more titles here that fitsthe characteristic of those animes that you listed (naruto, etc). I don't know how to call them. More dynamic or fanciful maybe?

Hellsing Ultimate, Gunbuster and Diebuster are pretty great. Keep in mind that for a lot of people Gunbuster starts off weak but the last episode easily ranks as one of the best ever made.

I'll also recommend Bakemonogatari a TV anime here because it follows the OVA format. Give it the three episode rule, I hated it the first time I watched it but once you let yourself get immersed in the dialog the fun starts.

men so I saw Naruto the movie 1 and 2, FLCL and Ani*Kuri15.

FLCL was amazing. I feel that there were a lot of symbolism that went over my head but it was great nevertheless.

Ani*Kuri had some great shorts. I especially likemore the ones made by Makoto Shinkai; Osamu Kobayashi; Atsushi Takeuch; Kazuto Nakazawa; Tobira Oda and Yasuyuki Shimizu.

I like more Naruto 1 than the 2. but it left a feeling of wanting more anime with people with super powers. Something like One piece but it tires me thinking t watch about 800 episodes. Can you recommend something like this? Or something like FLCL. Preferably not long. Something like movie or a short OVA.

I endorse this is a very good start. You can't go wrong with these.

Watch the Madoka movies, the first two movies a re a recap of the TV show (they are very faithful, and use the same footage). The third one is a sequel or alternate ending, and tons of fun.

>less goreish

Lol'd.

Anyway.

Some good stuff has been posted, but here I go.

Green Legend Ran.

If you like fantasy, try the Record of Lodoss War Ovas, but they're not exactly super stellar or anything.

Photon OVAs if you want something funny and well animated.

Tenchi Muyo in Love for high comfy levels.

Scrapped Princess for a bit of cheese and drama but overall pretty good.

I'd list more but I'm in bed with one foot. Can't think straight.
