Hi /rec/, I usually only check out Anime when it's word of mouth these days. That being the case and most my friends not watching anime anymore or not as much I've completely out of the loop on any cool new shit that has come out.

Is there anything this year so far that is a must watch?

Looking over the seasonal charts there's nothing that I've watched this year so far and nothing that catches my eye immediately. I am about to start Overlord however.

I'd say Death Parade is one of the few interesting shows that have already aired this year.

Overlord is a great so far. There isnt anything good yet I would wait a while for new shows to come out.

Regarding Overlord, if you like to sit down and read, the light novels are surprisingly well done. They're written with more care than I expected.

If you get past the early meta monologues you'll find some neat character development, scheming, and interesting fights.

I think the first six or seven volumes are translated.
