Hi there /rec/, I got my hands on the first season DVDs of Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple a while back. Can you give me recommendations for some fighting anime/manga pertaining to martial arts?

When I say martial arts, I'm not talking about typical fighting anime where the characters possess metahuman powers like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Fairy Tail, Bleach, One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater or Hunter X Hunter. I'm talking about Taekwondo, Kalaripayattu, Muay Thai, Krav Maga, Tahtib, Zulu Stick Fighting, Pankration, Glima, Savate, Sambo, Capoeira, Okichitaw, Boxing, Wrestling and pretty much any real life martial art you can think of.

Now I know that this thread exists: (http://8ch.net/rec/res/3608.html) But the OP in that thread specifically asked for realistic martial arts anime. I on the other hand don't care whether it's realistic or over-the-top. As long as most (if not all) of the characters know some non-fictional martial arts, it doesn't matter to me whether the martial artists themselves perform superhuman feats or not.

Kurogane is a kendo manga, Historie and Kingdom dive into large scale warfare, as well as being historical and awesome. Go read everything recommended in the thread you linked, as everything there is great reading. Gamaran, Basilisk, and Blade of the Immortal, from most realistic to least, are all unrealistic period pieces, so it's almost all ninjas and sword play. Jackals is a bloody mess, and Shigurui is a requirement if you want to start reading anything with swords. Also Rurouni Kenshin. I feel like there may be more that I can name, but that's it for now.

OP here, thanks mate! I'll take every recommendation I can get. But I would also like to add that I would prefer martial arts anime/manga that showcase multiple martial arts instead of just focus on one martial arts. Though that doesn't mean that I won't check out Kurogane or any other recommendation you gave me that focuses on a singular martial art.

As I said, I'll take any recommendation I can get. Speaking of which, feel free to tell me which one of these manga have anime adaptations, as well as which adaptations have been released on DVD with an English dub.

Once again, thank you very much.

Kingdom, Blade of the Immortal, and Rurouni Kenshin have anime, with Kenshin being the only one with an english dub.
