Howdy /rec/. I'm relatively new to anime and many people have said I have shit taste. So far I've seen:

>Death Note (Started off fucking amazing but slowly became shit, the edgy/violent parts early on were my favorite.)

>Attack on Titan (First 5 or 6 episodes were 'okay' and then everything just collapsed into an ocean of shit. The animation was kind of neat.)

>Kill La Kill (Some parts felt a bit tryhard but it's easily my favorite anime.)

>Cowboy Bebop (I don't really like episodic shows that almost completely restart every episode, I only watched half of it. Even when the plot did progress it still felt boring.)

>Psycho-Pass (Didn't make it past episode 3, it's complete and utter shit.)

What are some animus I should watch to improve my taste?

I managed to make it halfway through episode 5 of Prison School before losing strength.

Are your other recommendations jokes too?

Really?

What non-anime stuff do you enjoy.

Or what about Kill La Kill did you enjoy.

Recommending anime based on a list of shows you didn't much care for, is not so easy.

>likes shit la fucking god damn holy fuck shit

>hates Cowboy bebop

Liking Kill la Kill shows how new to anime you are, it's a typical shonen but edgy, and with no psychology with the fights.

Anyway you may like:

Lain (surreal visuals, dream like music, and nuanced story telling)

Texhnolyze (nihilistic characters, great story telling, and world building)

Hunter x Hunter (Semi-long shonen with no filler, great fights, interesting characters.)

Sorry, I genuinely thought you were joking. The BDSM fanservice in Prison School was annoying and the humor felt really hit or miss to me. My favorite parts of Kill La Kill were the over-the-top dramatic moments and the humor.

Thanks, I'll check those out.

No problem. I'm not the type to turn into a screaming monkey when someone disagrees with my tastes. Try:

>not liking Prison School

You do have "shit taste" or rather unrefined ones if you can refer to perverted chinese cartoons tastes as refined, but that's just because you haven't seen too much anime, everybody started off with shows like those or worse. At least it's not Naruto and Fairy Tail.

Since you enjoyed KlK so much you're bound to like Gurren Lagann. Basically the same thing, but with giant robots and manly men (don't worry it also have pretty girls).

You may also like Parasyte, it's a lot like Attack on Titan, but less shit in my humble opinion. Humanity vs intelligent and overpowered "zombies", MC turns from a faggot into a badass, a lot of body modification gore, all the good stuff.

From your list I guess you may also enjoy Fate/Zero, Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade works (both of these are worth it for the sound and animation quality alone) and Code Geass. If you want to see pretty art and animation also try Garden of words and 5 centimeters per second (these 2 are movies and not too long).

If you want to try something slightly different in order to expand your horizons also watch:

Berserk (the series, not the movies) if you can stand old shows with terrible animation. Other than that it's amazing, dark medieval character-driven story with war, politics and supernatural stuff. It's an adaptation of what's widely accepted as the best manga ever written, if you're ever going to read one, try this one.

Spice and wolf, a series about medieval economics and a romance between some merchant a wolf goddess with great character interactions. Despite what the first episode might make you believe it's not furry fanservice. Also it's probably the only anime where the dub is better than the sub.

Rokka no Yuusha, this one has a very slow pace ( the main plot of the season is revealed around episode 5). It's a mystery/action in a generic fantasy setting.

Ore Monogatari, cute romance that will give you diabetes. MC is the biggest highschooler you can imagine.

Neon Genesis Evangelion (and then the End of Evangelion). Somehow I doubt you'll like this one, but it's one of the most well-known and praised anime ever made. Pretty old, so the animation and sound won't blow your mind, it's a psychological drama with giant robots and a lot of 2deep4u shit.

These are all entry-level anime (maybe except for the last one) so you'll probably find some things you'll enjoy here.
