I'm looking for an anime (don't care whether it's a movie or a series) similar to Metal Gear. It doesn't need to include mecha, but I would like to see the serious atmosphere MGS has from time to time.

Black Lagoon maybe? It's the best rated series in the same style I can think of, even though I admit I'm not well versed in neither MGS nor Black Lagoon
