I want to start getting into it, care to list some Anime/Manga you think would be worthwhile? Im into the action genre, The only non action oriented anime i've ever successfully got through and episode for was Casshern SiNS, but there's still fighting in it.

I'd like it if the main protagonist wasnt super fucking mary sue like IChigo Naruto or Goku, because that ruins the story for me.

Don't recommend attack on titan.

If you haven't read Berserk get to it. It's widely accepted as a masterpiece and a must read for everybody who's into anime/manga. Medieval dark fantasy, tons of action.

Also try Vinland Saga, another medieval manga with lots of action. No supernatural shit in this one, it's about vikings fighting, killing, raping and eventually trying to redeem their murders and seeking peace

I should mention that these are still ongoing and the pain of waiting for new chapters is slowly killing devoted fans. Still, they're both great and should be read.

You can also read Claymore, it's not amazing, but if you like action it's right up your alley. Basically badass chicks killing monsters and each other with huge blades.

For anime it's hit and miss with everybody. You can try Fate:Zero, Fate:Stay Night UBW, Fullmetal ALchemist, Black Lagoon.

ashita no joe.

It's one of the all-time classics, it's a great boxing show with a deeply flawed but likeable character, and nearly every TV action anime since has referenced, homaged, or ripped off scenes from it. Beware, though, there's a lot of tear-jerking moments.
