Good and bad are decided by feelings. As in "That made me feel shitty".

How you feel about an unknown determines if it is a good or bad unknown. A future where you are homeless and have to eat poop is a bad unknown. You might end up enjoying being homeless and eating poop, you don't know, but you think of it now as a bad fate.

but unknowns are more vague than that.
