Have you accepted Ahura Mazda as the true creator of all mankind? Or are you a Liar?

>Zoroastrian
There's a reason why Zoroastrianism has declined heavily over the past few centuries, and it's not just because of Islam.
>hint: it starts with a P

I actually know woefully little about Zoroastrianism and would like to know what this "P" thing is.

>In the name and friendship of Ahura-Mazda. Be ever shining . . . Be increasing! Be victorious! Learn purity! Be worthy of good praise! May the mind think good thoughts, the words speak good, the works do good! . . . Be a Mazdayasnian, accomplish works according to thy mind . . . speak truth . . . and be obedient. Be modest with friends, clever, and well-wishing. Be not cruel. Be not wrathful-minded. Commit no sin through shame. Be not covetous. Torment not. Cherish not wicked envy, be not haughty, treat no one despitefully, cherish no lust. Rob not the property of others, keep thyself from the wives of others. Do good works with good activity. . . . Enter into no strife with a revengeful man. Be no companion to a covetous one. Go not on the same way with a cruel one. Enter into no agreement with one of ill-fame. . . . Combat the adversaries with right. . . . Enter into no strife with those of evil repute. Before an assembly speak only pure words. Before kings speak with moderation. In no wise displease thy mother. Keep thine own body pure in justice.

>The religion of ancient Persia as founded by Zoroaster; one of the world's great faiths that bears the closest resemblance to Judaism and Christianity.

>The points of resemblance between Zoroastrianism and Judaism, and hence also between the former and Christianity, are many and striking.

Zoroastrianism is interesting but I literally cannot find anywhere or anything to learn about it. There's no place of worship near me, and I don't know anybody who is.

Zoroastrianism can hardly be called pagan, unless you talk about any and all religions that aren't abrahamic, in which case go ahead and yell "pagan" at some Buddhists or Hindus you walk by.

 No.190

That is because there are less than 2.5 million Zoroastrians in the world today give or take.

>Have you accepted Ahura Mazda

No, and neither should have you. Traditional Zoroastrian is an ethnic religion, so unless you have Zoroastrian parents, you probably aren't "officially" Zoroastrian.

"
The social argument against conversion relies on the idea that Zoroastrianism is a strictly ethnic religion. In the traditionalists' historical view, Zarathushtra was not an innovator, but a reformer who practiced the priestly traditions of his ancient Indo-Iranian people. Zoroastrianism, then, does not break traditions, but continues them - reformed from polytheism to monotheism by the divinely inspired Prophet. And these traditions are from time immemorial the exclusive possession of a people known as Aryans. In the West, the term "Aryan" has been permanently discredited by its misuse by the Nazis, and the more neutral "Indo-Iranian" is preferred. For a conservative Zoroastrian, especially those with a more extreme outlook, only those who are Indo-Iranian Zoroastrian, with an unbroken lineage unmixed with any non-Zoroastrian heritage, can be true Zoroastrians."

>Or are you a Liar?

Zoroastrians believe that all faiths are equally valid.
"The philosophical and religious reasons are represented by educated Zoroastrian conservatives. They say that all great religions are equally true, and that no one faith is better or more desirable than any other. All religions that lead to righteous and constructive actions are inspired by God, and will lead their good believers to a heavenly reward. Therefore there is no reason to choose one religion over another. These conservatives recommend that a spiritual searcher should seek within his/her own faith, without trying to adopt other religions. In this view, not only should there be no conversion to Zoroastrianism, but the need should not even arise. Christians should be good Christians, Muslims good Muslims, and Jews good Jews - without coveting the illusory benefits of someone else's faith."

TLDR; Read about "your" religion before you start being so hostile to everyone.

So, essentially Christianity?

 No.347

>>346
Sure, without the Incarnation, Resurrection, Ascension, Trinity, or really any of the distinguishing features of Christianity.

That other religions resemble Christianity, especially in the department of morality, is pretty much inevitable given that Christianity is true, and that God has written the Law on the hearts of men (Hebrews 10:16).

 No.352

>>347
Okay, smart guy. I meant that morally Zoroastrianism is essentially the same as Christianity. Forget all of the rest, at their cores they are the same.

 No.353

>Forget all of the rest, at their cores they are the same.

Not at all, the core of Christianity is that Jesus Christ is the only means of salvation. You cannot "forget" about that when discussing Christianity. It's like forgetting about fuel when trying to fly an airplane.

>Forget all of the rest, at their cores they are the same.
You could say that regarding just about any religion.
