Music Nomination and Voting Thread
This thread is for making suggestions and voting on which pieces should fit where in Pokémon Sage.
General discussion, requests, new music and critique of it goes in >>52.
As to not have a total chaos in gathering music-suggestions and ease the amount of work you will have to put in for the surveys; we have split the music we need into batches. You will first suggest pieces of music (through Soundcloud) that you feel fitting to the Locations/occasions of the Batch currently in progress, we will then vote on them through Surveymonkey per usual.

Before you begin to suggest tracks, some tracks gets automatically suggested to, again, ease the process of suggesting/voting.
These tracks are:
1. Tunes that tied or didn’t get confirmed in previous surveys
2. Tunes that share the name of what we are voting for. For example: all tunes name route 1 gets “auto-nominated” for route 1.
We will commence With Batch 1 shortly; we will use it as a test to see what period is needed for both nomination and voting.
Battle Sprite QC Thread
Welcome to the Battle Sprite QC thread. Like how we used to do it way back when, we'll be going through batches of demo mons and making sure they meet our standards. It's going to be more casual this time around. I'm hoping to have most of the conversations regarding issues in thread rather than through survey. I'm also not gonna bother narrowing stuff down to a single sprite before we do any QC unless there are serious issues.
While I'm starting with Pokemon sprites, I do plan on including Trainer sprites in this process later on.
Here's the stuff I'm hoping to hear people discuss when we talk QC:

The Road to Demo 2.0
The purpose of this thread is to have a single location in which 2.0-related materials that are close to being finalized can be worked on and discussed in a focused manner. To quote empty from the "Final Stretches of the Road to 1.3" thread:

Important Trainers Teams Thread

-"shaman" pokemon as the species has allowed a certain dunky t wunkr to justify every fucking TM move in existance on this fucker.
-Thick fat doesn't fit it at all. Turkeys despite looking fat are some of the leanest birds. All muscle boi, gainz 4 dayz.
Solutions:
-Change "shaman" to something along the lines of "invader", "invasion", "unwelcome", "conquerer" or "cheiftan". It doesn't even have a staff how is it meant to woogidywoogidyvoodoo gosh someone didn't think this through.
-Change moveset to suit. This involves only small changes to the level up moveset (axe rain dance/weather ball and maybe even sandstorm) but broad sweeping cuts to the TM movepool.
-Change the ability to something like early bird or infiltrator.
Do note that species names were just added willy nilly some time ago with no real confirmation of them.
Farfetch'd solutions:
-Change the type to flying/dark or ground/dark.
-Change the name.
Mega Farfetch'd solutions:
-Cull entirely.

Ok, lets get some quick UI talk over with. This is pretty simple shit and we should be able to finish at least all the battle stuff within a week or two. And that's not even being optimistic.

Pokedex entry thread
For handing pokedex entries and taking them out of misc thread. We are looking to vote on entries here and throw entry ideas around. Until we hear back from coders if scrolling is possible for pokedex entries, we will be identifying all the entries are too long for the current dex.

Post your Concept Summaries here for the Champion of the Elite Four.
Note that I will be surveying Concepts only. You are welcome to make pictures, but in the survey I will not be using any pictures only Concepts Summaries. In which once a Concept is chosen later on we will then vote and decide on a design.
600 character limit per Concept Summary. That should give you enough to write about the Champion, without being too long to read.
Important! You will need to resubmit your concepts here! Even if it is posted on the Forum, Wikia, or other thread!''' This way we can narrow down options that were just thrown out by people but no one actually liked it.
This doesn't mean you can only post that Summary, you can go on as long as you like or post more about how or why you think that said Concept would make an ideal Champion. But a 600 character limit Summary is needed for the survey. And if one is not given, a summary will be made out of whatever is put there.
Also more then one concept summary can be given for a similar concept! See Tess submissions in the survey preview I link below.
Concept Summaries may not include the following(or if they are included they are subject to change or be removed from summary appearance in the survey):

Also note that if your Champion Concept would majorly change what Plot Council has laid out for Plot, then the Council does have the option to Veto it.
For example if you Concept was that you want Northington to be the Champion. Which would obviously throw a thorn in Plot Councils side.
Another thing to keep in mind is that if your concept dictates something about Urobos or the game heavily, it may be up for scrutiny and discussion on whether or not it is a viable concept and may need to be rewritten.
Examples being: "Founded Dronia", "First person to swim to Hoenn from Urobos", "Created Quaver Lake during a training accident" or "Hand picks the gym leaders from his squadron of peers in his time in the war"
Again remember you can also post following your Concept Summary whatever interactions and events and such that you think would make that concept an ideal Champion. But know that it will not be included in the survey, and also will not be cemented in and is subject to change.

The levels of the NPC's mons depends on the levels of the player mons, this depends on the exp yield you receive which depends on the number of trainers and wild mons you fight which depends on the size of maps which right now, heavily differ from GF's (pic related). Releasing Demo's to the Public
I have brought this up numerous times in the past, and at some point we should discus how we should continue to release demo's to the public. There is pros and cons on both sides.
A big ones for releasing demos is that we can use the public to find bugs they we originally did not, as well as getting feedback on what we have so far. The one to counter that that I find more important is the public's enjoyment while playing the finished game. And if they have already played 90% of the game multiple times at that point(having to restart in between each demo, I will bring this up later on in the post), then the enjoyment of finally playing through and beating the whole game will be much less then if playing through it without prior knowledge of everything.
Another reason to release demos is too show the public that we are making progress. With this I think as more time goes on the shitposting threads about it on /vp/ will die down. Or just let them know we are making progress, let them know how we are holding up, or show them some new recent maps. I think there is other ways that we can show that we are making progress other then continually releasing demos.
I was recently reading up the /v/ thread about us and:

Not that every outsider is going to react this way. But this is one reason why I think we shouldn't keep having these huge releases for each and every Demo. Each time we release a new demo and not the finished game, each persons individual "hype" for it will decrease. Granted that this won't happen to everyone, but this is what tends to happen. Sort of like desensitizing yourself. But there will always be those people who can watch the Lion King or Aladdin just about every week and never get sick of it. For the most part though, every time we have a demo and make a huge deal about it and release it on 4chan and Tumblr(which each time has a chance to be picked up by like Reddit or Kotaku again), a big part of our fans see it and will get hype for it, but possibly not as much hype for each consecutive demo.
Another thing that I mentioned earlier is that each time we release a new demo, you need to delete your old save. And I know a lot of people hate this, but allowing people to keep their save raises many problems. So much can change in between the demos, maps changing, parts of the story line. And the big one I figure that would break saves would be changes to Pokemon. Whether it be stats or move-sets or whatever, each time we test if a Pokemon is over or under preforming and needs some tweaking, that would be a reason why we need to have people restart for each demo.
Another reason that was brought up is that while waiting for the next demo people will grind their Pokemon and now be over-leveled for the next Demo.
Right now I think we should continue onto Demo 2.0 and for me personally I think that should be either the stopping point for public demos or possibly having a demo at the halfway point in our game and stopping there. In which after we would continue to work on the game and just beta test the demos ourselves internally.

So as we know there are several asshurt people on /vp/ and that's just wonderful, but there are some legitimate complaints about how the split was handled such as:
-Skype being utter dogshit as a gateway and skype being dogshit in general but hey.
-Distinct lack of transparency in the community that shares the name (/vp/ silly), despite it being an ask and ye shall receive basis.
-Some tripe about devs QC'ing for devs is bad that may or may not hold merit.
A proposed solution is to make this very board public, or at least linked on the wiki or regularly on /vp/.
Another would be to actually fucking stick to the weekly updates weather we want to or not, maybe majora could do it, they'd finally be useful.
Now, some pros and cons to this just straight up. All of these come with the con of having to moderate occasionally.

GAMEFREAK MISTAKES
Great buzzword, but did u no they actually exist. I often hear the rhetoric that "the games are getting easier" paired with screenshots of lowered levels or something bullshit like that. Then someone says "the games aren't getting easier you're getting older" and it's just shitposting from then on out.
They're both wrong.
The games are getting easier, but not because of shit like lowered levels and less pokemon on teams. Fuck, the exp share isn't even designed to make the game easy, just streamlined.
What is making the games easier is feature bloat that the opponents in game never ever fucking use. I'll spell it out for you.
You have access to things the in game opponents will never ever use.
An unnecessary advantage.
In gen 1, you had access to EV's and to an extent, IV's (you madman). And TM moves. These are undoubtedly advantages for your team. The in game opponents never use these. It's an example of gimping the opponents for no real reason other than making the game easier. Extra levels are a grinding issue and pretty boring, quirky moves and inherently better stats FOR the level are subtle, and actually bring more challenge. This has only gotten worse as the series progressed.
In gen 2, we got held items, an insanely useful feature that gives you a real advantage if done right. Hardly any opponents in the game use them. And generally when they do, it's mediocre items like a berry. And they still don't use the things from gen 1. Two gens worth of advantages for the player, none for the opponents. Easier.
In gen 3, we got abilities, more TMs, more IVs and EVs and even better items. The AI is not smart enough to abuse abilities, hardly ever uses items, nigh never uses TMs fuck off earthquake lanturn, generally locked to no EVs and no IVs. Teambuilding is intentionally bad. Three gens worth of advantages to the player, half of one for the AI abilities on occasion.
In gen four, we compounded the creep of gen three with more TMs, more items and the phys/spec split. The AI does not check for attack and will just use the higher BP move, even if it would do less damage. An argument to be made is that "smarter AI means you will be taking more damage over the course of a long route or dungeon, it isn't fair". That's fair enough, but this gen introduced stretches of multi battles in which you are fully healed after each battle. Did they account for this and make the battles harder? Not at fucking all. Four gens worth of advantages to the player, still half a gen to the opponent.
Gen 5 is again more the same.
Gen 6 didn't help with megas, but I can somewhat excuse this since they are supposed to be special.
This results in a steep difficulty spike when going to a battle facility (tower, frontier, PWT etc) which do have these. And as Masuda himself said, ain't nobody got time for that. Not to mention the ludicrously steep difficulty spike going into online battles, you will get stomped.
That's a gamefreak mistake proper in a non meme manner.

As people may or may not be aware, the next demo is 1.3. It includes all of the content and areas from the last demo, with feedback, updates and changes applied to the most current state. This will roughly reflect what it will be like in 2.0 which extends to Andante.Story Thread
