3) Not that I know. Double check all mons and TMs appearing in next game to see if they have customs. The only exception to this I'd say is Metronome. I don't think anything that can use it (Viipii) appears in next demo, but even if it did, we shouldn't worry about getting Legend Sigs, future Gym TMs, etc all done just so Metronome can use it (even though in theory the move would have access to those moves even now).

Ice Rink Changes:

The move activates first (like Protect), and triggers if the user is hit by a contact move (like Counter). If triggered…

A) The user takes no damage from the contact attack, and the attacker takes "kept going and crashed" damage instead.

Gen 4 had Jump Kick deal 1/8th the damage it would have dealt.

Gen 5 had it deal 1/2 of total HP damage (rounded down).

On one hand the Gen 5 variation is brutal, but the user is gambling on getting predicting when the opponent will use a contact move.

On the other hand, we are doing Gen 4-ish. So if we actually use the phrase "it kept going and crashed!" we should use the crash damage that Gen 4 did.

B) The user takes no damage from the contact attack, and the attacker takes damage as though they were hit by a neutral typed Grass Knot (calculated based on weight).

As to not have a total chaos in gathering music-suggestions and ease the amount of work you will have to put in for the surveys; we have split the music we need into batches. You will first suggest pieces of music (through Soundcloud) that you feel fitting to the Locations/occasions of the Batch currently in progress, we will then vote on them through Surveymonkey per usual.

Before you begin to suggest tracks, some tracks gets automatically suggested to, again, ease the process of suggesting/voting.

These tracks are:

Welcome to the Battle Sprite QC thread. Like how we used to do it way back when, we'll be going through batches of demo mons and making sure they meet our standards. It's going to be more casual this time around. I'm hoping to have most of the conversations regarding issues in thread rather than through survey. I'm also not gonna bother narrowing stuff down to a single sprite before we do any QC unless there are serious issues.

While I'm starting with Pokemon sprites, I do plan on including Trainer sprites in this process later on.

Here's the stuff I'm hoping to hear people discuss when we talk QC:

>How is the size compared to GF mon and other mon in the line?

>Is it consistent with our style?

>Is it accurate enough to the design?

So I just jumped onboard this project a couple days ago and I'm still learnin' the ropes. I noticed though that Iguadium and Koberus were not yet considered game-ready which I thought was odd since I thought both of them were already in the first demo (?)

Is there anything I can do for these sprites to make them game-ready, or are they already taken care of? If not, which mons would be good for me to work on?

Hey there! So what happened with Koberus and Iguadium is that their designs changed after they had been surveyed originally, so the sprites were out of date. I plan on swinging back to them later on to re-confirm them.

As for what mons are good to work on, you're really free to work on anything. The sprites currently being QC'd are >>6836 so working on those is always helpful

Hey guys, things seem to be wrapping up for a lot of these sprites, so it might be time to move onto some new sprites.

I plan on putting out the survey for >>6836 tomorrow evening. While I do my best to grab them all, the best way to ensure I have your sprites is to put them on the wiki. If they're not here or there, then no complaining if I forgot to include them.

Here are the Magnitogre back sprites I was working on.

New1 is an edit of A from the survey, using the front sprite's palette and making the overall size a bit smaller so the third smokestack could be fit in. Things like the face and line/bolts above the front leg were also edited to closer match their shape/position in the art, and the extra rust was removed. I also changed the shading/lighting to look more like Gen. 4 back sprites which are mostly in shadow with the light coming from the front/sides.

New 2 is an attempt to make a Camerupt-like pose as suggested in the feedback. Again using the front sprite's palette and the Gen. 4 shading/lighting.

Made some item suggestions for Rt. 10. As expected items are based on pre-Gym 3 locations, mainly from DPPt/HGSS. I considered switching items E and F so that Big Pearl is the hidden one so I'm open to making that change if others feel the same.

There are a couple places I'd like to put Shards here but again that's something I'd prefer to come back to once it's known when tutors will be placed in the game so they can be fed to the player accordingly. But if people want more items/want them placed now I can update the image.

Finished the Legato Saloon tiles I was working on. I included a layout example to show how they'd be used and where I imagine Ricardo and Norty will be located on the map so the event can play out smoothly. A few notes:

>Floor / Overall palette

If it's overall too brown then one of the lighter wood floor tiles may be good. I can make a mockup if people want to see it.

>Decoration

I considered making a mounted Buckston head (or just antlers) as it was a common decoration in the saloon images I referenced while making this. Decided against it, but I can make some if people want it.

>Door

The door along the back wall leads to the item that sits behind the Saloon/Pokémon Center.

Made a bartender NPC. Just felt it needed one.

Like Shards that's another thing that'll have to be figured out, what item(s) the move relearner takes. I doubt it'll be a Heart Scale since those relate directly to Luvdisc, but once the item is known and once their location is known it'll be easier to go back and place those around the maps.

Made some overworld item suggestions for Dronia City, including the ones from the dialogue pastebin I wrote a few days ago. Included in the image are position suggestions for the NPCs from the pastebin. (If the version of ground color used here is wrong just ignore it.)

I'm unsure of the passability of the barrels, so if the player cannot pass behind the top parts of the barrels then Item H will have to be moved over 1 tile to the left.

The way I saw it is that there aren't really rooms between the tubes. At least not like rooms of a building. More like big bubbles like rooms also made of glass. Basically like pic related with the only real "building" is the lab at the bottom. Really just having what would kind of look like separate buildings floating around doesn't really work well astheticly.

Also, if you look at underwater architecture everything's always rounded, not square rooms. And certainly not square rooms that would have straight corner turning like that. If anything, the tubes should be wherever there's a turn.

The results for the route 4 survey are in, and they paint a picture of a rather split team. We have 3 ties which will go to runoffs. The dialogue for the route 4 house also received enough complaints that it wasn't up to quality that We will proceed with modifying the result and checking again if its up to standard.

It would also help if tomato and majora explained why they didn't like the dialogue.

Finished the Telsion and Chameleohm overworlds I was working on. Telsion is listed as 2'7" so its size was based on Raichu and Prinplup. Chameleohm is listed as 4'11" so its size was based on Armaldo, Exploud, and Krookodile.

After making the .gif I noticed in Telsion's south-facing frames its nose horn may benefit from being moved down 1 pixel. If others agree I'll post an example of it.

nice work. tho Telsion's side sprites perspectives seem somewhat iffy to me, like theyre tilted a bit much to the south. i think its the arms (and maybe the far eyebrow-horn, maybe move it one pixel back, but idk, it seems consistent with Chameleohm's horns). The south-facing sprite's eyebrow-horns seem inconsistent with the north-facing sprite but its good as is if its quality is tarnished. as for Chameleohm, i compared the north-facing OWs of Rhydon and Feraligatr and im pretty convinced that its forearms' positions shouldnt be that high. it kinda looks like he's dancing or imitating a crab lol. everything else is solid imo

I'm not against changing types, but there's no reason to change this one.

Their design is that they wear rocks, not that the rocks are actually part of them, so I think only gaining the rock type as it evolves and gets more rocks on it makes sense.

There are already a few normal types that only gain their other typing when evolving like Bidoof and Bunnelby and to some extent Fletchling

Uh, do you have any evidence for that? Because that doesn't seem to be the case looking at the design to me.

My understanding the concept was they eat rocks and eventually they grow out of them, but as pebblosa that hasn't happened yet. But the design clearly shows rocks growing out of it.

This is a thread for discussing the Pokemon that important NPCs will have. To start with, I'd like to keep the discussion to Sophia, Simon (Whether or not we want them to have different teams like Brendan and May had), and Ricardo, and the three gym leaders for the upcoming demo (not rematch teams), but then eventually expand into all the gym leaders and the E4 with rematch teams and other important NPCs once their roles (such as in sidequests or the postgame) are confirmed. This also includes ET members and Northington (If he ever battles with/against you)

To clarify, levels, evolutionary stages, held items, movesets, etc. will be intentionally vague pending balance. Note that the number of Pokemon each of the characters have is also subject to balance (mostly important for early gym leaders).

Trainer themes, such as trick room, baton pass, etc. should be mentioned in the team, but remember that they are not guaranteed.

But how would we go about Northington making Quetzar share knowledge and how would the player stop it? Quetzar won't listen to Norty so he can't just say "Quetzar share your knowledge" and even if that happened, how would the player stop that? Would they battle Quetzar? Because that would add another battle to the climax because you'd already have the battle to stop Quetzar going berserk.

And then there's the fact that Quetzar simply being awake grants people knowledge. Northington wouldn't have to do anything else. Once it's awake, he's basically done. Only thing he'd have to do is stop ETL for getting to it.

That's factually incorrect.

The original idea of the idea that northy is the focus in main game, and etl for post, was that since at the time, many people didn't want the et to feel like a pushover: why would preventing a massive corporation be totally broken by just not getting quetzar? Combine that wiith the desire for a strong post game plotlne, the idea was that northy would act in the capacity of a GF antag for the main game. He would be the one directing the admins, and the one you fight. He still wouldn't be the etl, of course, he was using the et for funding, and they were using him for his expertise.

You'd see the etl first sometime around mid game giving northy directives, and again at the climax where northy and the et cut ways, with one party betraying the other, but even then, just really as a hint of what's to come as somebody pulling strings. Come the end of the game, you've thwarted the etl's efforts to get what they wanted, but the etl is still out there and the corporation is still a threat.

Now. that may not be what YOU guys have acted on lately, but that was the original idea.

I don't necessarily mind if northy himself isn't battalable, but by extension that means the etl will be as part of the main game, and THAT i'm against: She ceases to be as threatening if you've already beat her, and based on what I know of is planned for her personality, you beating her would make her hate your guts and ruin her facade, something I think is too early to happen and severely limits our postgame plot options.

The idea was suggested at one point, but didn't get support and was quickly shot down. It never had enough traction to be called intent.

This is true, however Norty being the focus doesn't mean ETL can't be fought at the same time.

This is somewhat true. Norty is the main antagonist, but that doesn't mean he has to take the place of the ETL as the final boss or that he needs to be fought at all. Blue or Silver for instance can be seen as antagonists.

Both of these are untrue. Admins take orders from ETL. Norty is more of an advisor than anything. Norty may have so sway in what they do, but ETL is the boss. And as my post meks clear, Norty being fought at all was never confirmed and what we are deciding now.

This is false. The only confirmed time Norty and ETL are in the same event is the Golden City. There are ideas for them showing up in an earlier event, but nothing directly confirmed and no ideas really have ETL bossing Norty around.

i agree with chao's point that the loss of having all his plans fail right at the finish line, mainly because of the player, would be enough to drive him into a rage and have him fight you

i do see the strength of his pokemon as a reasonable concern, but firstly, that's not really a big issue because that type of shit is usually never explained in gf games, and secondly, i wouldn't be opposed to some sort of scenario where you battle norty and he has a team of low-mid leveled mons and also quetzar in some way

honestly i think a few these things are much more relevant points about the ETL

she's a thinker, not a fighter. she has admins and grunts to do the heavy lifting for her, while she sits back, plans, and makes the company seem legit

too many battles - the climax is already filled with boss battles. you fight all 3 Admins, Norty, and Quetzar. any more and it would be too bloated

She has plenty of reason. First of all, you have done things to stop her plans. Not a full stop, but you've proved to be a constant thorn in their side. Not to mention they're acyually a bad natured person unlike Norty, and would want to put you in your place for your going against them and making a mockery of her Admins.

They do have a beef with Norty, but he's just an old man who she never fully trusted to not betray in the first place. He can't do much to stop them, but you've proven to be more of a threat.

They're a thinker and a fighter. They're basically good at everything. And as for levels specifically, it's been a common idea in plotchat that they paid to have their mons perfectly bred and trained.

That only works if Norty and ETL were up in the air about being fought. ETL is already confirmed to be battlable in the ETHQ, Golden City, and in Postgame.

So I noticed we don't have a general thread for stuff that doesn't fit into the main categories (Maps, Stats, Sprites, Music, and programming), So this is what this thread will be for.

Move/Ability descriptions and names (Possibly effects too, though that's probably getting into stats territory), Dex entries, sugis, design stuff, (maybe dialog? Or does that go in plot?) whatever else doesn't belong elsewhere.

I imagine that if any particular area gets too big it can splinter off.

the poiint is clash is holding the file hostage from me just because he knows it pisses me off, and he's putting his spite above the project and people being able to work on it.

Can I remake one from scratch on my own? Yeah, but it'll take litterally 6000x the amount of work (2 mins vs a few days), and what i'm fixing isn't worth the amount of tiime it'd take, AND there's no guarantee what I use as a base will look as good.

There's literally no reason to not make it public, all it does is create more work and inconvenience all around.
