with a new rice

stuff that changed from last time:

now using silhouette icon pack

now using a wallpaper from that icon pack

did a new PA install with minimal gapps (play store and services only, installed others after the fact) The only reason I still have gapps at all is so I can use snapchat

I'm not enough of a weeb to brandish it in public so no anime wallpapers for me.

Not them but it looks like a generic clock widget and Min icon pack ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ryanmkelly.me.min ).

Found this widget https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.devmil.minimaltext a couple days ago and been playing around with it. It's pretty cool.

As far as pics related goes, I can't decide which looks better. The one I chose for now is the smaller text. I also had one with just the time part, and made a battery one but it didn't look as good on the same page and I didn't really want another page.

You can also do sideways vertical text, or just have regular numbers. Other things you can display include battery percentage, temp, voltage; CPU temp, speed; RAM; bandwidth; and more.

It is called Subject Beauty. Originally it wouldn't show the embedded on the songs pictures, but I "fixed" that. Kind of cheated, so I am not sure if it is going to work on anything else than foobar2000 v1.3.8 (the current newest version), but most likely it will.

Supyo, was wondering if anyone wants to get in on making this rice pack with me. So far I have a bunch of GUI mods and system mods for Win7 that make it look and function more like Linux. I also have a batch file that auto-installs a lot of it. Is there any software you guys think I'm missing? Does anyone wanna help with the auto-installer (possibly make a C++ executable for it)?

When this is done, it's supposed to be a click-and-go full Windows optimization and GUI/functionality overhaul. Let me know what you guys think.

It's specifically tailored to Windows 7, but I exclusively used 32-bit programs that are all windows natives so I imagine it works for XP, 8, and 10, although it's untested on all of those (feel free to try it though).

>>345

Yea I spent five hours yesterday trying to get py2exe to work for a keylogger I'm making based on this thread - https://8ch.net/baphomet/res/82763.html#q99322

So really I'm just being a lazy shit, I have to get the batch files to work properly; the Auto-copier works (all the files get moved to their proper folders automatically), but the Auto "installer" doesn't get everything yet, as everything is technically already installed because the source folder contains all the extracted programs etcetera. The auto-installer batch just needs to run and exit each program in a certain order for them to get added to the startup registry or for their visual styles to get applied.

So sorry, the reason the download isn't available yet is just because I'm a lazy shit, but the good news is that this probably works on all the common versions of windows, or at least the large majority of the programs will. Also, if you're interested, the keylogger will be it's own download (and source will be given) on the site, as well as part of it's own opsec and misc package similar to Shax, so you can get that for free as well when I'm done with it. All the updates for the finished products will appear here first - https://8ch.net/fcc if you want to know right away. Cheers bruvdas.

>>375

Yea soz bruvda, been super busy submitting papers to journals and shit because I'm a nerd. So here's what's going down, I got four packages now-

SNUX is a Winux overhaul, meaning a Windows7 rice & mod package designed to make

Windows look and function more like Linux.

SPOR is a portable desktop deployment designed for SecOps and Win-program replacement.

SHAX is a portable skiddie toolkit designed for local, wardriving, and remote tasks.

The programs bundled in SHAX are based on this program list - http://snerx.com/trenches

SPAX is the combination of all three other packs, intended to make for a full distro

deployment of Windows7 fully riced and modified to look and feel like Linux SecOps.

I updated the page for this a little bit - http://snerx.com/winux

The reason I separated them was so the ricing would be its own thing and all the extra programs, 'debloating' of windows via alternative programs to its undesirable vanilla programs, would be their own thing. Shax is almost completely unnecessary for the average person, so that's separate as well. I drank a lot and my head hurts so we'll see where this goes, but in an attempt to make this release sooner, and possibly with full-on installers to automate the whole thing, this is open-source, anyone that wants to work on it, contact me, I'll be putting the upload for SPAX on the site first which will just be all the files I currently have for all of this, so you can edit that as you please.

This is very /tech/ related and has some light /rice/ elements. I wanted to spread this to you so that you would stay informed. I hope this helps you.

Dumping massive /tech/ guide and redpill

Warning:

following these instructions may severely break your computer and firefox and may ruin your privacy and your entire life.

do any of these things at your own risk.

I am not responsible for anything bad that happens to you.

Some of these things DO mess up your ability to use 8chan and screw up the way the site functions so pick and choose carefully, use saves/different profiles or something.

This may void your warranty.

Ask a professional and the mozilla team before doing anything.

You have been warned.

first open about:config

to protect against SSLv3 exploit you can use the mozilla addon "SSL version control"

or set security.tls.version.min = 1 in about:config for Mozilla Firefox.

To restore change the value back to the security.tls.version.min = 0. That's it.

In Mozilla Thunderbird you can set it also in about:config, which You can find in: Tools → Options → Advanced → General → Config Editor.

Always use a firefox fork that gets regular good security updates. never use a main distribution. the underdogs are your friends.

remember to explore "about:permissions" as well.

(search these so they come up)

 No.433

cars modders started ricing

 No.434

>>431

Well, rice as we know it today began as far back as the early nineties with american skids eager to boast their hacker talents. As you can imagine this was relatively primative use of available window managers. However it didn't stop the imagination of movie makers who recreated these hacker style desktops in films which popularised ricing beyond the small american niche groups. With more popularity came more talent to the scene, different ideas and a constant need to improve and compete. The term itself is stolen from car modders, no idea when it came into use.
