Any nice browsers out there? I can't find one thats minimalistic and smooth. And i don't know how to use and install CSS themes. I'm using chromium at the moment.

 No.228

Install Icecat.

 No.229

the current thing to do is to use firefox and the stylish plugin. the plugin allows you to theme with css all of the ui. you then go to userstyles.org and customise a theme.

chromium isn't generally recommended as it is google and so highly botnet.

>And i don't know how to use and install CSS themes.

This isn't the board for you.

>I'm using chromium

Chromium doesn't have CSS themes. It has autistic color scheme changes. Install firefox or icecat, and download something called 'stylish'. Then, go to userstyles.org and search for 'firefox'. Do this for all the webpages you use frequently as well.

You should really be in a 'ricing for noobs' thread, not your own.

 No.488

You are new to ricing. It will take a lot of time to get your perfect setup. Keep experimenting.

Take a look at configs other people already made & steal things you like.

I am bad at colors and color schemes

Anyone has any good couple of colors that fit well, cause I tried it myself and I'm not sure if my eyes have recovered.

I want something similar to pic related. Any variations on accent colors that fit are also fine.

Please, I need to change it up a bit

It looks like a CLI based browser but it's not W3M (I think)

I am not sure, anyone wanna help me figure it out? Or at least suggest a good browser that fits my system wide theme easily?

Is every 8ch board as dead as this one?

 No.524

>>510

8ch is definitely slow, even moreso after the split between 8ch and 8ch.pl

That being said I notice that the traffic to boards like /rice/ and /n/ is still pretty consistent

I'm also p sure the onion community here is a bit more established, maybe not as much as /r/onions tho.

Here is a little nice looking skin for my fellows.

https://d.maxfile.ro/hdrfomwpcv.zip

It is called Subject Beauty. Originally it wouldn't show the embedded on the songs pictures, but I "fixed" that. Kind of cheated, so I am not sure if it is going to work on anything else than foobar2000 v1.3.8 (the current newest version), but most likely it will.

This is very /tech/ related and has some light /rice/ elements. I wanted to spread this to you so that you would stay informed. I hope this helps you.

Dumping massive /tech/ guide and redpill

Warning:

following these instructions may severely break your computer and firefox and may ruin your privacy and your entire life.

do any of these things at your own risk.

I am not responsible for anything bad that happens to you.

Some of these things DO mess up your ability to use 8chan and screw up the way the site functions so pick and choose carefully, use saves/different profiles or something.

This may void your warranty.

Ask a professional and the mozilla team before doing anything.

You have been warned.

first open about:config

to protect against SSLv3 exploit you can use the mozilla addon "SSL version control"

or set security.tls.version.min = 1 in about:config for Mozilla Firefox.

To restore change the value back to the security.tls.version.min = 0. That's it.

In Mozilla Thunderbird you can set it also in about:config, which You can find in: Tools → Options → Advanced → General → Config Editor.

Always use a firefox fork that gets regular good security updates. never use a main distribution. the underdogs are your friends.

remember to explore "about:permissions" as well.

(search these so they come up)
