Desktop thread historians - who started rice as we know it today? When and who moved it past this shit?

 No.433

cars modders started ricing

 No.434

>>431

Well, rice as we know it today began as far back as the early nineties with american skids eager to boast their hacker talents. As you can imagine this was relatively primative use of available window managers. However it didn't stop the imagination of movie makers who recreated these hacker style desktops in films which popularised ricing beyond the small american niche groups. With more popularity came more talent to the scene, different ideas and a constant need to improve and compete. The term itself is stolen from car modders, no idea when it came into use.

Post titles are too dark to read without looking closely. I feel like if you're going to change bg and post bg color, you should also change all the text colors to something that is legible on top of that color. Otherwise it's ok, personally not my style though.

Please don't tripfag.

Tripfagging is for people who's identity needs to be preserved, such as someone giving a forum interview/AMA. If you had some reason to specify yourself from the other anons here, it'd be acceptable, but currently you're just some random newfag using mint.

Don't take this as a personal attack. I'm just requesting you don't tripfag.

tmux is TUI, not CLI. TUI is a GUI drawn with text. Even the colors, boxes, and lines are done with escape sequences and special characters.

Or if you're a plan 9 nerd, it actually is a GUI where the primary element is text and non-textual elements fit in as long as they're not buttons and icons.
