This should be looked at as the Catholic Church on 8chan! Look below and you can see some of the rules.

>All Catholic discussion is welcome

-Catholic & [Other faith] discussions are welcome. (IE: Catholic/Islam relations)

>No flaming

-The instigator will be banned and the thread will be removed

>No absurd hate

- Critisms are welcome, as long as you have evidence, or a supportable idea to back up your claim. Saying "All Catholics deserve death" or anything like that. Toward any group, without due cause will result in a ban.

>Keep is SFW

- We do not want porn/gore/CP/furry/Homo or any other here! Keep it clean!

Greetings, /roma/ here.

Why could you not name yourself /catholic/?

Are you trying to hinder our war against Carthage?

Mod of /catholic/ here. What should I do?

Hmm, /catholic/ might make more sense, but it's more to type.

I personally like /rome/ because it's shortest and makes its point. If we could contact that board owner and migrate there…

Hey, caesar here

Why call it Rome?

Hello?

Are you Catholics trying to coopt it just like the Russians did and shill against me? Believe it or not, >>>/roma/ is actually able to make war with the beast, but don't talk about it too much outside of more occultic boards (there really needs to be a christian mysticism board btw discussing things like Catholic/Eastern Orthodox/Rennaisance symbolism, don't expect me to make it).

TL;DR: 1920s Albania forum game. Country is very poor and backward but there's also tons of political intrigue going on, therefore it can be fun. Players can join as whatever: cabinet members, miscellaneous politicians, army commanders, tribal chiefs, religious authorities, student radicals, etc.

To quote sign-in thread:

>Players in the game represent characters in the fields of politics, the army, religion, journalism, etc. There are no set rules or list of actions; a player sends a private message to the GM saying what he or she wishes to do that turn, and the GM makes a list of plausible outcomes and subjects them to a random number generator to see which one occurs. There is detailed information on the situation inside the country in various fields of life, from the condition of its armed forces to the state of its cultural facilities. Players will generally be briefed each turn as to how their actions went as well as the situation they are in (e.g. how soldiers under their command are doing, how their efforts to organize people in a region are progressing, and so on.)

North Albania was the center of the country's Catholic population and there were a bunch of politically active Catholics at this point.

How does being a Catholic affect your personal usage of imageboards?

I know we're meant to be an example for others to follow, and that Jesus went among sinners to save them. So I don't see a problem browsing and posting in general.

I also know that a straightforward evangelistic approach is likely to be refused. So how do you gently nudge people in the right direction? By making sure your contributions are always clean fun? By being there for the moment when someone does reach out? That's what I've been thinking but I wonder how others approach it.

What about chan culture with offensive origins, like calling people faggots or niggers in a friendly way? Do you think it's alright to call someone oldfag, amerifag, "mah niggah" etc when nobody will think of it as an insult?

 No.7

Nice post OP because I was going to post if it's an occasion of sin to go on chans. I'd like some debate and for people to resolve this issue if possible. As we know, 8ch hosts a lot of bad material on other portions of the site. Does that suggest that Catholics should really have their own chan that is totally SFW? I incline towards this view.

On the other hand, it might be admitted that any site, like Facebook or whatever, hosts offensive content, but they are lawful to use. Ideally, still we might abstain from them (I don't use Facebook).

/christian/ is SFW, for instance, so using that seems pretty justified. But what about nsfw boards like /pol/? I think at minimum sfw alternatives must be created or it is wrongful occasion of sin to go to these boards.

>Jesus went among sinners

Yeah, that's a good example to ponder.

Calling people "faggots" in a friendly way, I think is probably juvenile and wrong. I certainly have partaken in it, but I think it's dangerous because some people inevitably end up taking comments the wrong way, and people can even be roused to violence over them. But, who gets angry at normal conversation, compliments? So I think we probably should speak positively all the time. Could that be a form of "cursing"?

I mean, think about some of these terms people use: "Christfag"? To someone not versed in chan culture, this could be thought of as pro-homosexual "Christians".

We know Scripture writes about the importance of controlling one's tongue, so maybe we can think about and meditate on these various issues and come up with some answers.

 No.9

Honestly, it's made me hate Pagans even more.

 No.17

Speaking positively and clearly is a good plan. I suppose it would also set a good example to not just lazily follow trends.

Occasions of sin are one thing I don't really understand right now, since I'm still relearning everything. It seems like it made more sense to avoid occasions of sin when I was a kid and could be very easily influenced, and not such a priority now that I'm an adult and have more control over my actions. But I don't know how that relates to scrolling past porn, for instance, and putting myself in a position where it might be more likely to happen. The purpose in that situation is to avoid impure thoughts, but what if a person doesn't have that reaction to seeing the images?

I guess I wonder is it an occasion of sin because there is a sinful thing present, regardless of my susceptibility to it, or is it only an occasion of sin when it's something I am susceptible to? If you have enough willpower is it okay to expose yourself to bad things in order to do good?

Probably questions for a priest, but it's what I've been contemplating lately

>How does being a Catholic affect your personal usage of imageboards?

Every time I encounter a non-Catholic I make heavy use of the term 'heretic'.

That's about it. Seriously, fuck you guys and fuck your pope.

Care to elaborate or are you just funposting?

Have you taken the brown pill yet, mateys?

it's a tough pill to swallow! The brown pill was founded in 1999 by Sir Reginald Brownpill, who presents and narrates the attached video.

Forget red and blue pills, brown pills are the way of the future.

Video related. Please leave your questions, comments, and concerns below about this radical new paradigm of thinking!

Swallow the brown pill today! Red pills are for fedora fucking wearing faggots, blue pills are for the ignorant masses. Ignore the other le epin /pol/ maymays, this one is the readl deal.

This relates to jesus because ol' reginald here is a christain or something

AMA and discussion related to Catholicism and "Traditionalism": mysticalist conclaves, pope Michael/conclavism, sedevacantism, feeneyism, sedeprivationism, SSPV, SSPX "The Resistance, "independent" bishops/priests, SSPX, Byzantine/Eastern rite, FSSP, and anything else you want.

i have friends from a sedevacantist sect in Uruguay, they want to make a serious group.
would trad, priests and "bigger" groups accept joining forces them?

 No.11

>>10
Probably, but there are no big forces in sede vacantism.

From the sede point of view, at best they are probably looking to import a priest or send one of their own to a seminary who would come back and administer sacraments. Or, they could immigrate I guess.

But I'm anti-sede. When I was a sede, I tried to email and ask why more people weren't setting up prayer sites if they don't have a priest.

The top sede groups would be MHFM (vaticancatholic.com) though they're feeneyites (I don't know what kind of sedes your friends are), CMRI, SSPV (they're not officially sede but leave the issue of the pope as an open question), Franciscans of Rochester (friarsminor.org), and other "independent sede vacantist" groups.

 No.16

Let's make some important distinctions here.

FSSP is one of the most prominent groups that are definitely in good standing with Rome. If they're still cool with the current office of pope then they're still cool.

Most of the others you listed have varying degrees of disagreement with the current situation in Rome, from the "mere" canonical irregularity of SSPX to the completely off-the-rails heresies that typify the Palmarian church.

>Byzantine/Eastern rite

That's something completely different entirely. Having particular churches in communion with Rome is a great thing, because it allows us to experience firsthand the diversity of ancient liturgies that go back to the earliest centuries of the church. I just wish that we saw more of the diverse Western liturgies that are hardly seen anymore in practice so we can keep those bits of history just as alive.

 No.18

>Traditionalism
Is "What is it?" too vague of a question?

 No.22

>>18
Naw, I think you bring up a good question. "Traditionalism" was never defined and encompassed generally the opposition of Vatican 2 which was judged to be anti-Traditional in contrast to "Traditionalism", which contained (in our understanding and opinion) the Catholic remnant and then "traditionalists"; the latter claim to be Catholic but break rules here and there. If you read around on these various "Traditionalists", I think you'd get a feel for how the word is used. Some have been using the word "Traditionalism" to describe the false traditionalist reaction to Vatican 2 rather than a Catholic reaction to it, as various "traditional" groups sprung up who were in conflict with one another but sometimes worked together (and at times, logic would demand that they oughtn't to have). Thus, the word "tradcumenism" has been coined to describe this idea of "traditionalists" working together "ecumenically", when they shouldn't be.

 No.4[Reply]

I suggest maybe Valentine's Day might be otherwise celebrated by Catholics, because St. Valentine was a martyr for the faith. Love of God should be primarily celebrated, because that's what St. Valentine demonstrated. He loved God enough to risk persecution and death, and covertly helped Christians to marry during his day.

Love God with your whole heart, etc. is the greatest commandment of Christianity

How might this be put in to practice this Lent and far into the future?

Also Valentine's Day General: Feels, Prayers, Thoughts

I am single and without God would be pretty despairing!

 No.5

I'm only recently returning to Catholicism. Discovering God again has definitely removed all kinds of anxiety about things like being alone on Valentine's Day, it's a great feeling to not be worrying about where I think I should be in life anymore. I remember as kids we called it St. Valentine's Day, I think if people did that more often in general it would help raise awareness.
