/sad/ - Depressed

Let's talk it out. Help each other. Be rude, be yourself but always work towards getting all of us better.

Needed info:

I'm not autistic.
Long time anxiety/depression, and am receiving meds & therapy for it.

For the rest of it:

I'm pretty much the worst at making friends. Multiply that a couple dozen times and then you'll figure out how bad I am at meeting women.

This is how it works when I meet new people:

-Everything goes great for a few weeks (less with women) and then I get the cold shoulder. It's like there's some kind of no-contact order that keeps getting put out, and I don't know what the fuck I'm doing to make this problem keep coming up.

Anyone?

Do you do your part to make the friendship(s) grow? What I mean is, do you ask them to hangout outside of school/work? Where do you typically meet people? Do you have any hobbies that you partake in that you could do with others?

(op) I like to think that I'm doing my part of being a good friend. I try to have folks over regularly for brunch/coffee, get out and go for a beer once in a while, or go out to other folks apartments for CoD and whatnot.

I've got hobbies, boy do I. I try to talk about philosophy, I'm a recreational shooter and sometimes hunter, and I'm an amateur gunsmith.

What I'm starting to think is that I'm just downright horrible at conversation, and this drives people away.

What exactly makes you think that you're a bad conversationalist? What I mean is, does it go stale right from the outset? Do you ask people lots of questions? Most people LOVE to talk about themselves and when given enough attention, they typically reciprocate and interaction has a snowball effect.
