/sadpuppies/ - Discussion of SF/F books & SJWs/CHORFs

I started this board not because I love vidjya, but because when I was younger: I really loved SF/F.
I'm doing this not because I'm part of GG and I want to cause butthurt to SJWs (…although, that would be a bonus), but because I was a part of the SF/F fandom long ago. I left because it became a distinct "NO FUN" zone; a vehicle for (SJW) "message-driven" stories; which were supremely boring, that forced me into other formats and genres that interested me.

Now that SP3 acting as the proverbial banishing "cross" to the corrupt SJW "vampire"; which has up to this point had complete control of the Hugo awards (and a marked segment of the industry), has been given the boot; I have more confidence in the industry.
Now that SP exists, I really… really… want to get back into the fandom which I felt was denied to me.

My intent now, is to bridge the gap between GG and SP. Also, I want to read more books. Please suggest some for me, and others, to read, but also please restrain your enthusiasm and don't bombard the board with your SF/F love; I personally, want to rediscover that, by reading things I and other posters love; in -our- own, respective, time.

tl;dr:
If you're into SF/F; even of you're n00b or pleb yourself; please make an "elevator pitch" as an appeal to everyone here who be n00bs or plebs for stories you like.

(In the: "It's X meets Y", format; such as, for example: "It's God of War meets Splinter Cell"; especially if you can utilize vidjya as examples, would be optimal in both descriptiveness and brevity.)

/sadpuppies/ was created with the intent to discuss SJW/CHORF shenanigans separate from GG boards; as Sadpuppies is both older, and only tangentially, related to GG.

As well as, providing a place to suggest and discuss Science Fiction and Fantasy literature.

TL;DR RequiresHate SJW nut job who used sockpuppet accounts to harass authors and fans of everything from manga to romance novels, often from the standpoint of calling out what she saw as hypocritical, flawed takes on feminism and other social justice issues. The attacks were often aimed at acclaimed writers of color, including author NK Jemisin, called "eminently mediocre" and Saladin Ahmed ("a very fine example of how omnipresent the male gaze is"). Those comments are mild compared to her usual fare.

Though her comments are now deleted, the trail of frustration she left in the community is still visible. Her posts were vile to the point of using death and rape threats. Apparently she pushed someone to attempt suicide.

It was discovered that RequresHate was Benjanun Sriduangkaew, a science fiction writer who had established herself over the past few years as a well-liked and talented new author. As a lesbian Thai woman, she identified as a member of a highly marginalized community, and there had been quite a bit of excitement in progressive circles around her rise in popularity as a short story writer. She had been publishing SFF since 2012 and was a John W. Campbell nominee for 2014.

I've been very much out of the loop with the state of sci-fi awards so if someone could fill us newfags in, that would be appreciated.
