Personally, I don't see it as "revisionist Satanism". How many books and works for centuries now have dictated who and what Satan is? And by Christians, Muslims, Jews?

Who says we can't put in further study to find the real origins of Satanism? I will not take the word of a Christian over what is written in stone.

Sethianism is derived from the LaVeyan Satanism.

Apparently one of it's founders had a vision from Seth from Egyptian mythology, who related himself to Satan/Samael from Judaism/Christianity (there is no Satan in Islam :^), just evil djinns) and they worship him as a real person, as opposed to the symbolic of LaVeyan Satanism.

Main problem is that Seth was never an evil deity to begin with. He was demonised by the Romans and associated with their evil gods (Dis Pater?)

I think it's where from the Pagan Vanguardist "Satanism" started from.

This right here says it all about Satanism. Satan's enemies have worked hard to ensure his remembrance would be spat upon. Along with every other ancient culture. Set/Sitri is one of Satan's seven sons.

The fact of the matter is that Iblis is the spirit Islam portrays as being responsible for the temptation of Adam and Eve, and for tempting mankind in general. The story of him refusing to bow to Adam and Eve also parallels with a first century Jewish text called "The Life of Adam and Eve," in which the same episode occurs with "Satan" instead of "Iblis." This shows the later Islamic story to have a root in a story about the Judeo-Christian "Satan"

Also a simple Google search can be used to find many examples of "Shaytan" in the Q'uran as a very specific singular character

It also being used as a plural in other places is unsurprising, because the word simply means "adversary" and is not always a proper noun. (In fact, it's quite possible that the Satan in the Book of Job isn't the Satan from other books of the bible. The original Hebrew has it as "ha-satan," which isn't a proper noun and would be better translated as "an adversary" or "the adversary")

The same in the judaism. In fact there are no fallem angels in judaism. Even Satan abides by G-d.
