I've always been concerned about the ethics of stuff on arthropods that would normally be considered inhumane on vertebrates. It is true that they have no pain receptors but just because an organism doesn't feel pain does not mean it cannot experience suffering in other ways.

im ok with this. by the way i find it very paradoxical how many people whine about experiments like this one but eat meat.

Im ok with the idea of causing suffering to further science as long as it is valid. An example would be studying criminals in isolation to monitor how people cope with being alone for long periods. This could be useful for nasa if they ever actually do their mars mission. They will have to plan for things to go wrong and something like this could be important even if others are still alive.

Find a friend who works in one of those animal cloning labs, or get into that field so you have access to one.

Follow the same procedures.

You don't need government funding for it. The problem is you need an expensive piece of equipment to bind the DNA to the egg.
