Oh, hey. We're actually having old posts pruned now.

Hey autismos, I've got a placement test in 5 days. I want to test into calculus, which means I have to demonstrate a solid understanding of algebra (trig, geometry, functions & graphing, etc), PLUS an OK grasp on Calculus (which I've never before studied).

Anyone wanna hook me up with some pointers? I already know of Khan Academy and YouTube.

Idk. Happy New Year

>Calculus

>Greatest theoretical achievement of mankind, the apex of centuries of research into mathematics

>without it we would have 0 understanding of the world around us, our tech would still be stuck in the 18th century

>2/3 of incoming college students fail it after spending 5+ months of study

>(burgerstan's pass rate is higher because their teachers are cucked and never fail their students; this is a large part of why american college degrees are worthless now)

>expecting to learn it in 5 days

My pointer is to stop trying to cheat. The test is supposed to measure the skills you've already mastered, so take the test fairly and show them what you know. If you want to study, then review the stuff you already know and shore up the stuff you've forgotten.

To go into a little more detail, I have taken all the classes up until Calc. On the last class, I failed due to poor attendance and missing 'daily quizzes' and he points. I had to leave the state so even if I got 100% on the final I still would've failed. But I knew the material very well, before leaving the state the teacher had told me as long as I get above 70% on the final, I'll pass the class. So I'd rather not sit through another class I already know, PLUS my shithole of a school only offers calc once a year, and I certainly don't want to wait that long.

And another note, I had said UP TO calculus. Not calc, other than a sprinkle to put me into the class.

But every post ITT so far has been by a retard, especially OP.

1. Learn the cute algorithms for taking a derivative or integral of a function (don't even bother with the more arcane transformations, just learn the simple shit)

2. Learn the meaning of a continuous function and limits

That's about all I remember from calculus 1. A concrete understanding of linear algebra is worth its weight in gold if you want to actually 'understand' calculus; most kids just use it like magic and don't realize its just glorified algebra.

Shoot I still hate stressed out high school academic over-achievers, and their posts.

I learned Calculus I-III in a year through textbooks.
