How easy be it to homebrew me Wii? I've never tried it, but dolphin be broken as fuck and some Wii and GC games cost $80 on Amazon.
Anyone have a good guide? And will modding it let me play both GC and Wii games?

The Homebrew Channel be trivially easy to install for both the Wii and WiiU's Wii Mode. I'll just make a quick list of some homebrew I'm using:
>Nintendont
Plays Gamecube games on Wii/WiiU. Most games work 100% if not maybe a minor issue. Hopin' BBC emulation will be added at some point.
>USB Loader GX
Plays Wii games off SD/external hard drive. I think it can also act as a frontend for Nintendont, though I usually just launch it myself from HBC.
>CleanRip
Rips GC/Wii games (only Wii games if usin' WiiU)
>GCMM
Save and restore GC save data from memory cards. Can save individual games or the whole card. (Not required to use for Nintendont if ye want to use yer old saves, but it might be nice to play from a backup just in case. Also useful if ye plan on usin' yer old saves on Dolphin.)
>SaveGame Manager GX
Save and restore Wii game saves. (Like GCMM, ye can backup yer saves for use with Dolphin if ye want.)
>Not64
N64 emulator. Unfortunately N64 emulation in general be shit, so some games won't work properly. MK64 and Majora's Mask run fine for me though.
>YAMM
Used to install WADs, if ye want to use them.
>WiiMC
Media player. Can play DVDs if ye have an older Wii. (2008 and older I think) You're probably better off just usin' a regular Bluray/DVD player, but usin' the Wii remote to seek be actually pretty nice.
WiiBrew and GBATemp are also worth lookin' at. Between the 2 sites ye should be able to find most homebrew and emulators available as well as figure out any problems ye may come across.

Wii be 4.3
Homebrew be 1.1.2
USB Loader GX be 3.0

For playin' games on Wii(U) any HDD should be fine, so just get whatever drive ye prefer. However, the Wii(U) doesn't have enough power for 1 USB port to power them, so a Y cable or powered USB hub will be necessary. However, 3.5" drives use more power than 2.5" drives, so if you're usin' one of those a separate power cable be required.
Also, a flash drive be fine (if it has enough space) because read speeds will still be faster than an optical drive.

also, this one be useful if ye don't have a computer with an SD card port. You'll still need a computer with the port to move the intial homebrew files from computer to Wii, but this lets ye move files between an external USB hard drive to the SD card, so ye can just move files to the hard drive via USB, and then move files from the hard drive to the SD card.

Romulation as far as I can tell has all of them, but only use them as a last resort. Download times will take several hours no matter yer bandwidth. They charge $10/month for premium while Emuparadise be $12/year, but Emuparadise also lets ye do 1 download at a time at full speed. Oh yeah, it's also recommended to either install IOS58 or just update to System Menu 4.3. I recommend doin' the latter for simplicity, but if for some reason you'd rather not update, ye can just install the IOS through here: http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/IOS58_Installer But seriously, I can't think of any downside to just updatin' the Wii. Assumin' yer homebrew be up-to-date, nothin' will be removed or overwritten. me Wii still has DVD playback in fact. (As I mentioned, it's only supported in the older Wiis. If ye got yours late-2008 or later, it won't be supported.)
Also, I didn't install BootMii until today because I only bothered with Homebrew Channel, but it can do NAND backup/restore as well as boot straight to the HBC. It even has GC controller support meanin' ye don't have to turn on yer Wii remote if ye don't need it. It's perfect if you're just playin' GC games.

On USB loader, I get a black thin' when I view the display, and no sound plays. When I start the game, I crash and go back to the homebrew channel.

49871e No.5743
>>5430
I like hearin' the music too, but I also like not havin' to turn on the Wii remote unless necessary. Also, if BootMii be installed, it will only run on boot if it sees the folder on the SD card. Simply rename it if you'd rather go straight to the Wii menu. Overall, I'd still recommend havin' direct HBC bootin' and brick protection (useful if ye be modifyin' cIOS's, which you'll need to do to play Wii backups), but then if ye want to boot to it all the time be up to you.
>>5622
Do ye have IOS58 or System Menu 4.3 installed? (If ye be usin' the WiiU's Wii mode the answer be yes.) What are ye usin' to install the cIOS? I used https://code.google.com/p/d2x-cios/ and it worked for me. (Make sure ye use the right version for Wii or vWii.)
Have ye tried other loaders? I think they're all very similar at this point, but if one's givin' ye issues try another.

I had me a home brewed wii for a little while, but then me little brother came to visit me at me apartment and he updated the firmware, so now it all be broken. be there any hope to fix it?

If it's a regular Wii, just re-install the Homebrew Channel and ye be set.
If it's a WiiU, ye be gonna have to wait a while for another exploit, though the vWii should be unaffected and still homebrewable.

Is there any reason to buy a Wii if ye can run a dolphin emulator? Just for "nostalgia" or something? I never owned one because poor.

It's cheap as dirt and softmoddin' be easy as fuck.
Dolphin be still runnin' weird on many games and usin' wagglan' be most comfy with real console and real controller.

What do I do with gamecube isos for two disk games when both disks have the same ID?
bcfe07 No.8159

Gettin' a used Wii (or usin' the one gatherin' dust in yer closet) be cheaper than building/upgradin' a computer for emulation. No seriously, they're dirt cheap. Over 100 million Wiis were sold, but it basically dropped support in 2010/2011 when the fad wore out. This means they're high in supply while low in demand. This be economics 101.
While Dolphin usually emulates very well, not all games will have 100% performance. (assumin' yer computer be capable of runnin' it in the first place) Some games also require the motion-sensin' aspect of the Wii remote which may not be as easy to emulate for some.

For which console? If it's one that's already been discussed, just Ctrl+F "the console ye want to pirate" and read the relevant posts. Otherwise, which console are ye tryin' to pirate on?

Since Mega be compromised, I deleted everythin' I shared on there just in case. (You should probably do the same.) If a link doesn't work, assume I (or another m80) removed the files before a government or corporation could.
However, I am sharin' me stuff on RetroShare if anyone's usin' it. >>7765

ye be probably still better off usin' sites like emuparadise.me for now, but it could be a more viable alternative if TPP and increasin' piracy penalties are a sign of what's to come

I keep tryin to load killer 7 through usb loader gx and nintendont. I named the two isos game.iso and disc2.iso, respectively. However, instead of both individual disks loadin in usb loader gx, it just be loadin' two copies of disk 1. If I remove game.iso from the drive, disk 2 appears in the menu (confirmin' it be in fact the correct iso), but I'd like to be able to play both without this workaround. Can anyone help?

1) be the game listed as workin' in the compatibility list?
2) Did ye make sure the first disc be game.iso and the second disk be disc2.iso?
