but he be right in that playin' games with centralized servers isn't goin' to work unless someone can reverse-engineer the code such that they can host their own server, AND other clients can hack their settings to point their game to it. there are a number of games where this be possible, namely MMOs, but also many matchmakin' systems just have too much shit for ye to go through to find a simple match for it to work, or the game's code isn't accessible.
it's best to play multiplayer games made before like 2006 so ye don't have to deal with that garbage.
