File: 1437162422769.png (299.18 KB, 662x513, 662:513, cancer deinonychus.PNG)

Disease, not predation, kills the majority of animals in real life, but it is almost never represented in artwork, let alone palaeoart. Italian artist Alessio Ciaffi highlights the grim reality of disease with this poignant drawing of a female Deinonychus infected with facial tumors.

Ciaffi has dedicated this artwork to his late grandfather, who also succumbed to the dreaded disease in what he describes under “similar conditions.” Being a disease of organized tissues, cancer is present in all animals, even insects.

It seems rational to assume that dinosaurs would also suffer from tumors in various locations.

File: 1437162795568.jpg (31.45 KB, 787x497, 787:497, Social Awkwardness.jpg)

Social awkwardness was assessed using a 7-point scale where participants indicated their agreement or disagreement with various statements related to nervousness around others, awkwardness around other people, and shyness or embarrassment. Online anime fans stood out as being somewhat more socially awkward than the other groups. This is supported by above results (#13), where online anime fans were also the lowest in trait extraversion. Of the four groups, the online anime group is the group with the least expectation for social interaction – convention-going furries and convention-going anime fans are likely to interact with one another, while fantasy sport fans interact with others in their leagues. As such, rather than it being the case that being an online anime fan “causes” a person to be socially awkward, it may be the case that anime fans who are socially awkward may find convention-going to be an undesirable experience. Future research may look into testing the direction of this association.

The concept of self-esteem has traditionally been divided into the types “high” and “low,” with high self-esteem characterized by general feelings of self-liking and self-acceptance, and low self-esteem characterized by more neutral self-feelings (Kernis, 2003).

China is the most populous nation on earth and has the second largest economy in the world, behind only the United States. It is not surprising, then, that China—a nation once isolated by choice—has become a significant global influence in recent years. While some observers see this as a natural progression of China's move toward a more open and free society, others view it as an alarming trend that could empower and embolden a nation that has been heavily criticized for its history of human rights abuses.

Anyone ever get the feeling that there really isn't a rule? Like, instead of figuring out a rule before they start the thread, the mods just ban people at random for a while, and eventually just pick a guess that they like and say "lol that was the rule you got us :P"

(USER WAS BANNED FOR BREAKING THE RULE)

049bbf No.15391

>>15390

It's not as easy as it sounds, the random banning and then picking a rule to suit it. Try it out. After any decent numbers of bans, the rule will typically become too obscure to be of any quality.

that said though, I don't think it's abnormal at all for a rule to start out pretty vague and be more finely tuned as situations people didn't foresee start to pop up.

I was thinking it was grammatical. I guess I'll post a few more random excerpts and omit known bad words.

The Vannellidae are a family _ Amoebozoa.[1] During locomotion they tend to be flattened and fan-shaped, although some are long and narrow, and have a prominent clear margin at the anterior. In most amoebae, the endoplasm glides forward through the center _ the cell, but vannellids undergo a sort _ rolling motion with the outer membrane sliding around like a tank tread.

Buddhism as a whole is quite different from the theological religions with which Westerners are most familiar. It is a direct entrance to a spiritual or divine realm without addressing deities or other 'agents'. Its flavor is intensely clinical, much more akin to what we would call psychology than to what we would usually call religion. It is an ever-ongoing investigation _ reality, a microscopic examination _ the very process of perception. Its intention is to pick apart the screen _ lies and delusions through which we normally view the world, and thus to reveal the face of ultimate reality. Vipassana meditation is an ancient and elegant technique for doing just __.

That's the shitties reason to take his long to guess the rule :^)

But yes, >>15490 is the right answer

Just to clarify a few points (especially for >>15383):

1. the triggering words are the one inside the gold-coloured circle, so anything from "any word can be ban choose your words carefully" is not a ban

2. a word is a combination of letters and numbers surrounded by anything else (e.g. whitespace), so "one two" is two words, but "onetwo" is just one (hence >>15383)

Good job nigtv~

phew

I have an idea for another round, I'd check it for simplicity with another mod but I'm afraid of losing a player, so expect a new hopefully easy round in 1-3 hours. Unless someone else has a rule they think will be easy, of course.
