>>8064 yea but XE has the better album art out of any of their releases, so in it went.
I still don't understand why it seems like they got singled out to be praised compared to other great noise/minimalist releases. I mean it's good noise, but apparent universal accolades seems a bit much;
"…looping exploration of dreamy percussion that sounds like a cross between bicycle spokes being hit, a street excavation project…"
"…pretty much epitomizes uneasiness, like you'rе worst post-millennial urban nightmare come to life in musical form, let loose to terrorize the world, at least for the disc's ebin duration. And then all goes blissfully, nervously quiet once again."
Both fairly positive reviews, compare to like;
"…There’s only fleeting moments of intrigue in the musicianship but for the most part the structures and arrangements are a confused mess that serve no real purpose."
"It’s a challenge to sit through any given song but being forced to sit through the album becomes a titanic task that only prompts thoughts of complaint or mockery"
(from one of the few legitimate reviews of this album, some are less negative, some even close to apathetic)
Okay, maybe comparing Dream Seeds to XE is a little bit of a reach, but it gets under my skin a little bit to see every zs/liars/(other bands I can't think of off the top of my head) release roll out to fanboy-tier appreciation, while other great releases (which shouldn't be too easy to miss) get ignored/panned (I can think of so many noise releases from the last 15 years that are way above anything Zs ever did, you probably can too). Again, I'm not saying it's not particularly bad music or anything, just irks to see a million people I've never seen come out of the woodwork to review some weird noise album.
I know rant in the wrong place, and also who the fuck listens to music reviews on the internet, and also all you said was new slaves is better thеn XE.
