ACTIONSince the dawn of the /sen/ate, /sen/ators haved talked about the constitution - fundemental ideas behind a structure. After a convent that barely anyone contributed to, and two drafts, it's time to turn this idea into a reality.
As such, I move that:
1. Xeno's constitution be adopted as the official constitution of the /sen/ate, as of passing of this action
https://docs.google.com/document/d/15ivX6vFYHwufCVrlWRiN8Sd2AjqxDXuQC3b00tVljjs/edit?usp=sharing2. /convent/ be shut down, and all contriibuters (TryingTooHard, Xeno, MIDMAN, Thompson, Bishop Squeezy III, Ju, Hatman, Mr. Duncan, and our good friend Anonymous) be recognised in an addenum to the constitution
I vote Yes, with all my 10 seats, and urge other senators to follow suit Post last edited at

It needs to have five points:
1. Executive Branch (RJP request)
2. Bicameral system if high traffic
3. /b/ as a branch of government
4. Mathematical and scientific standards
5. GET laws (fail to generate a GET is shitposting) and Legionfag laws (Anonymous is independent but associated with 8chan)

Unfortunately, I do not think the current draft of this constitution is suitable.
Nay, 10 seats
You also may want to read through it. It says we will not be able to have more than 3 seats…
The process you're using for adopting the constitution goes against the action which created the convention in the first place, too. We can probably circumvent that but I think it's worth mentioning.

ACTION SUSPENDED WHILE I GET A REVISED VERSION UP
2b64c8 No.10874
ACTION RESUMEDRevised constitutionChanges: I've edited section headings, and moved some things around. I've removed all of the "until changed by the senate" things, as the constitution is an authoritative, but fluid document, and this should be assumed.
I've changed the independent seat number to 3.3%, as that's the current number - it was 3% before.
>>10868I'm trying to follow Xeno's idea and keep it as simple as possible. You can add in other ideas later, as these are rather divisive, they work against getting it through the senate, so at least we've got a constitution. I hope you can see why they've been omittes.

For now, I'll vote
yes with 7 seats on this.
>>10868No.
>>10874For readability purposes, consider adding page breaks to make each section have its own page, as I did in Revisions 0 and 1.
Also consider revising the first article of Section One to read:
>The Senate officially consists of one board, /sen/.>>10869>It says we will not be able to have more than 3 seatsRevision 1 was written before the Senate Restructure passed. Revision 2 has amended the article on Independent Senators.

As it is now we cannot vote yes.
We vote No with 8 seats.

>>10891>>10916I can understand English-only, but as it stands now, French, Spanish, and Russian are included, but German isn't. This seems either unfairly exclusive, or needlessly inclusive. Either take out everything but English, or add German. Until then, ACP
abstains, 35 votes. 9b0424 No.10944
I request this document be reviewed, and re-edited.
Until then RxPx will abstain.

I think most of the articles in this proposal need to be debated and voted on individually. The constitution should be a collation of the already passed legislation rather than a new piece of legislation that tries to solve everything.

>>10957>The constitution should be a collation of the already passed legislation rather than a new piece of legislation that tries to solve everything. That was the entire reason I even created a new constitution draft.
My own Revision 0 and Revision 1 consisted mostly of law that had already been passed at the time, as opposed to the alternative, TTH's draft, which was nothing but a bloated, broken, error-ridden sprawl of what I can only describe as some sort of autistic masturbatory wish-fulfillment fanfiction about his view of the Senate, with well over 99% of the content having not even been
attempted to be passed into law at any point.
