86d233 No.11443

MOTIONS
I move that:
1. The senate condemns the Nacionalista Filipina (NF/KKK) party for:
a) Defying the will of the senate, with complete contempt for it
b) Calling the qualification and impartiality of the volunteers into question baselessly

2. That the senate expresses full confidence in the board volunteers to carry out their job effectively and with impartiality.

10 votes yes

8cd50b No.11444

8 votes yes.

3b86cf No.11457

yea, 11 seats.

7bbadc No.11461

Yes, 18 votes.

65f670 No.11465

Yea, 10 seats since this kind of behavior is unprecedented. Even our worst posters know better than to actively try and push for illegal actions and thinly-justified warmongering.

My patience even as a stoic wears thin. I'm tired of redundant, poorly-written actions taking multiple threads. The board volunteers are doing their best and should receive no blame for this mess.

3ae2b3 No.11470

Yea. 12 seats.

7e1360 No.11471

21 votes nay, the senate has no jurisdiction in Borneo.

3b86cf No.11472

>>11471
And the RPM does?

5f1acc No.11475

I will cast my votes as 18 votes yea on action 1 and 17 votes abstain on both on the grounds that, as a volunteer, I do not feel qualified to vote on action 2. The 17 abstains will default to yeas on action 1 only if Cherenkov does not change them himself by the end of the voting period.

While I can sympathise to some degree with the NF/KKK's purported intent, I cannot condone the actions they have taken, and as a volunteer I try my hardest to serve the senate and to fulfill my duties.

/sen/ has jurisdiction over whatever fictional version of the globe this game takes place in. The actions taken by the KKK are expressly illegal according to the laws of this senate and to allow this to go forwards is to undermine our own authority.

>>11472
Let the Malaysian and Indonesian authorities handle the RPM

>>11520
Which law did they break

c0c666 No.11549

>>11543
They're invading Borneo when their measure to make the /sen/ate recognize the right of the Philippines to the territories in question fell through when it failed to reach quorum, meaning it failed, we don't recognize their right to those territories, but they're going ahead with it anyways under the specious claim that Kane somehow 'corrupted' the vote for some purpose or other, as though it's a really high priority for Kane as a board volunteer to personally spite a newcomer with a chip on his shoulder.

7e1360 No.11550

>>11549
So they didn't actually break a law?

c0c666 No.11552

>>11550
What? Yes, they did. They're taking rogue military action against a government which /sen/ recognizes as legitimate. It's over anyways, Wei already took care of it.

7e1360 No.11582

>>11552
We don't have laws against moving people or weapons outside the country. If he and his associates have entered another sovereign nation illegally, that is outside our jurisdiction.

c0c666 No.11614

>>11582
If we honestly don't have laws against aggressive invasion, which you'll have to ask the volunteers/owner about, then I assume it wasn't against the law to stop it with force either.

508b57 No.11631

>>11614
Panopticon is right, the senate has no jurisdiction in Borneo.

You are completely failing to account international law. (So have we)

We're not going against the senate's will, because military action was never in the bill we tried to pass, but only the recognition of the claim to Borneo.

On the fact that two volunteers are party leaders, which makes them pretty much prone to pursue the interests of their party, and has done so. (I don't really give a crap about this anymore though, the whole Borneo thing is much more fun)
If this bill passes though, no one can ever criticize the volunteers, baseless is a matter of perspective.

8cd50b No.11634

>>11631
The /Sen/ate has already voted to send in a peacekeeping force.

c0c666 No.11642

>>11631
You are expressly going against the senate's will and you were given ample warning that your warmongering would result in military action against you. Military action was taken as a result. You criticized the volunteers based on in-character issues and not out-of-character moderation, which is poor form.

As you have no claim to Borneo, your military action was unjustified; you had as little jurisdiction there was Panopticon is suggesting we have, a point I explicitly disagree with him on so long as we're going to use real-world locations in character. The blame here is on you.

It's actually 78, but you're right that it met quorum. I'll fix it.
