3d4aa0 No.11464

Pursuant to responsibilities established in the Letter of Marque, the Fruit Bat has commenced raiding operations against the supply chain of the Revolutionary Philippine Militia (RPM).

Although our main fleet is currently off the coast of Africa, we have sent recently acquired unmanned naval vessels from our port in Guam. The capabilities of these vessels are, as of now, a secret. The unmanned vessels will arrive off the coast of the Philippines in 12 hours. Our main fleet will arrive in Singapore in 48 hours. Upon resupply, we shall arrive in the Philippines EEZ in approximately 12 hours.

Our research has concluded that the Philippines military equipment is as follows:
11 Amphibious assault ships
3 Frigates
11 Corvettes
59 Patrol boats
55 Combat aircraft
33 Attack helicopters

We are more than confident that our unmanned vessels will be able to harass and capture any naval vessel or merchant marine fielded by the RPM. Starting with port and docking facilities and anti-mining operations, then proceeding to fleet, transport, and cargo raiding, our goal is to disrupt the throughput of the RPM supply chain by 20%.

INTEL
Hello, this is Alobe speaking from the bridge of the SS Fruit Bat. This is, to the best of my intelligence division's knowledge, the current situation. We have purchased 64 F-14 fighters which are now being fitted and supplied at Palau. It will be approximately 8 hours until they are ready for flight. We have obtained permission from the Bruneian government to base our countermilitant air superiority activities from their airfield.

UPDATE
We have welcomed aboard the many senators, delegates, and higher ups of the UCFP, its constituent parties, and all those who voted for crushing the militant activity aboard the SS Fruit Bat as observers pursuant to the privileges and responsibilities conferred by the letter of marque. It will be a couple days to Singapore, but do not be mistaken: from the SS Fruit Bat, the actions and maneuvers of the unmanned fleet can be observed. The official approval of our embarkment from the /sen/ is preferred, so please accomplish this by the arrival of the unmanned fleet in Philippine waters.

INTEL UPDATE
Latest intelligence reports suggest that the capital of the Sabah region has been occupied by Filipino militiamen. In a short while, the unmanned fleet will reach the predicted supply lines and commence raiding, followed by an attempted blockade of Sandakan.

If all goes to plan, the results should look like the Imjin War:

AFTER ACTION REPORT 1
Our unmanned fleet, consisting of 15 fast attack submarines, called the "Congolese Sea Rodents", have begun mining and convoy raiding operations in the Celebes Sea, the Sulu Sea, and in the Spratly Islands. Their home port was established in Brunei. For now, a "hive" has been set up in the center of the Sulu Sea on the Tubbataha South Reef, where resupply will occur. A couple near misses were recorded along with a hit, but no enemy losses have yet been recorded.

Meanwhile, an air superiority and bombing campaign has begun on insurgent positions in the city of Sandakan. The F 14 fighter wing, called the 1st "Infectious Love" Fighter wing, has taken up the task of establishing air superiority and bombing high priority targets in Sandakan.

Realistically, it takes a space station years, not days, to be completed, due to logistics and economics (but you're not complaining about that). Realistically, this annexation of yours would be an outrage worldwide, and the US would step in and annihilate your entire force (but that's not happening). Realistically, 90% (perhaps more) of the actions passed here would never see the light of day, and the senate would not hold elections every weekend (but they have, and we do).

You have unrealistic expectations of reality. That's all.

>>11503
>Just take it slow, maybe a few hours in between posts

Ah, excellent. Do keep in mind that these systems were mostly designed for asteroids. There have been talks about more practical methods of orbital bombardment in the future which the SPQR might be interested in implementing which would be more suited to orbit-to-surface warfare rather than protecting against space debris, and it would circumvent this issue, mostly through an even more devastating payload. I'll see what I can do. As Marcus said, however, this system was primarily designed to destroy extraterrestrial threats to the planet such as large asteroids. The only aspect of this system that positively impacts orbital bombardment is the fact that the beam is a red laser, which doesn't diffract or diffuse as easily or as quickly in the atmosphere as some of the shorter wavelengths.

I also have qualms about using this as a weapon on a regular basis. To prove a point to an unruly faction who refuses to listens to reason, and as an example to others who would do the same? Sure. To act as a deterrent, and to eradicate a threat to freedom and rights of a people in a balance of surgical strike and guaranteed effectiveness? Certainly. But death grieves me, and I would like to not be forced to repeat such an incident again.

I did my duty for queen Kane and country
