Even "Seriously Respected" boards like /v/, /gamergate/, /k/ and /tech/ respects /sp/ for their GETs.

Note that even good board opens door for /sp/, and so far only one board banned them.

Enforcing culture where it doesn't belong is one of my pet peeves of this chan. Board culture doesn't just appear, it develops. I think that what we have on this board (when it is working properly) is enough evidence that we are a mature enough board to not rely on /sp/ or /int/s jokes to be entertained, or set the tone of the discussions.

That's why I personally don't think it's a good idea.
