Oy, so you want to cosplay in Senran Kagura 2?
…No? Well, this guide just became worthless to you… But for the others, here is a step-by-step guide to what I do to make my cosplays the best they can be!
Step 1:
>Try to find the most suitable outfit first.
It's almost self-evident that this ought to be step 1, but if you can't find an outfit that loosely resembles the person that you want to cosplay, you will rarely get far with the following steps. I don't think this requires me to elaborate much. You also choose the hair here, although you could change it later if need be.
Step 2:
>Check the original outfit's design more closely.
Like step 1, this seems self-evident, but you're doing something important here: you're trying to get all the details in your head. Try to get a rough idea of the engravings in Gray Fox's head, Raiden's chin, Samuel's arm, etc. These things are simply not part of the original outfit you grabbed as a base, the bodysuit I keep using never had any of those by default.
Step3:
>Scroll through your accessories.
You need to really know if you have the rough shapes to make something. And keep in mind that you get a lot of room with angling and scaling. I used Student Bags as armour plating on an arm, for fuck's sake. You get a lot to work with, and you need to know your arsenal.
Step 4:
>Replicate the most important details first.
This is important: if you can't get the first parts right, don't bother spending your time on the rest. If I was unable to get Raiden 's "eyepatch" right, I would have wasted a buttload of time on the chin and the shoulders without it looking right. You can also change the hairstyle at this point if the need arises. I prioritised the eyepatch, but it didn't look right with the hairstyle I used, so I changed it.
