Alright, so here's the deal. I heard that Senran Kagura 2 is a nice game. So I'm considering getting it. But I think my experience with Senran Kagura Burst is stopping me from getting it. When I first played Burst I thought it was fun at times, but when I was nearing the end of the Hanzo campaign I thought the game gone stale. I really wanted to keep on playing the game and wanting to like it all the way through because I liked its tongue-in-cheek, straight forward attitude, and its sometimes fun combat, the gameplay got a bit too repetitive to me and I stopped playing it. Does Senran Kagura 2 bring more to the table in terms of gameplay, not just fanservice and customization, and is it harder than Burst so you won't be able to just breeze through it?

Personally, I have to say that I love the gameplay mechanics and play styles. I think it's my favorite game in the series so far, and it keeps me coming back even after beating the main story. If you're worried about repetition or not caring for it, I'd suggest seeing if a friend has the game so you could take it for a test spin. I've let my brothers try each game before deciding if they want to get it themselves down the line, just because even though I love the series I wouldn't want them picking up a game they don't enjoy just because I love it so much.

Senran Kagura is leaps and bounds better when it comes to gameplay. The combat is improved as now you can fight in 3D arenas while it still being a side-scroller. New gameplay mechanics include things like the strong attack having multiple purposes, like for example, while Asuka's and Ikaruga's strong attacks are launchers, Katsuragi's and Hibari's give them powerups. They both get a new moveset and some new abilities. Kat can shoot projectiles and can fly while Hibari get's electric attacks that stun the opponent super easily. Combined with other improvements, this game is easily leaps and bounds ahead of Burst in the gameplay department. Oh, also it has a tag team mechanic but you probably already know that.

I'd say that SK2 is able to keep things fresh longer than Burst. I felt similar to you when playing Hanzo girl's story in Burst. However the Hebijo side seemed to pull me back into the game at least long enough to complete the story and side-missions.
I'll be upfront and tell you right off the bat I still haven't finished SK2 yet, work has been a bitch. I'm deep in chapter 5 though and loving the series' new pair mechanics. Sometimes I'll put two random senrans into a mission and be surprised at their synergy despite them not being "rivals" or whatever. I plan on downloading the DLC when I finish the story missions, but man at 25 hours into this game I'm just fooling around with the combos and in no rush.
You can make the gameplay tougher or easier too which is nice like >>109596 said. Overall it is more of a balanced game than Burst.

Nice! How much longer do you think on your vehicle? Someday I'll know what it's like to winterize my car. Winter never gets cold enough here for snow, or even icing over for that matter, sadly enough. At most we'll get some light frost on the windows.
