I enjoy it, but it is a musou game so it can be a bit divisive. The big problem a lot of people have is that you're expected to kill about a thousand enemies per ten minute level, and most of these are mooks that will only hurt you on rare occasions. Basically, you kill them to build musou(special attack gauge) or get to their leader who's a meatier target, so mooks are essentially tall grass that's a bit more aggro.
Named, health-barred enemies are more interesting. In HW they have full movesets, ways to bait out weakpoints and all that fun stuff from Zelda bosses, and that makes them more fun than other musou games where single combat is just rocket tag with musou attacks.
I spent several hundred hours, it's great.

Yes, it has a bunch of free patches and such, and it has a load of DLC adventure maps and characters that are pretty good value if you're having fun. Adventure maps are sort of gameboards set out like Zelda 1, with each square being a scenario on a story-mode map. They can be 50-100 hour investments, each, and are great fun and sometimes infuriating when you have to kill 1200 guys, in less than twelve minutes, without getting hit more than once or twice.

Another fairly mellow day at work followed by some more Grand Knights History. Crimson finished their last round of training and graduated to full knights! The mission difficulty is intensifying but they're holding their own.
They also pushed into some uncharted neutral territory to the east. It seems to be a nexus point for the 3 warring nations, so they'll have to keep their wits about them in case they run into enemy knights.

How's everyone boobing on this fine, crisp autumn morning? I'm boobing fairly well myself.
I've been playing a bunch of Zelda Triforce Heroes lately, and the game is a real mixed bag. Playing it solo, it's very clear that the game is meant to be played with three people at all times, and from what I've played, I feel like it would be magnificent if experienced properly.
That said, I'm not happy with how the single player works. Switching between three individual Links is tedious at best and frustrating at worst. There are moments that are clearly meant to be cool team activities or team battles that become monotonous when done solo with a lot of switching back and forth between characters.
Overall I'm still enjoying myself, because the approach to dungeon design feels fairly fresh. Short dungeons with clever puzzles and combat with a limited toolset and no consistent gear apart from the crafting materials you earn is working well for me so far.
The outfits you can make are cool and offer unique abilities and features, so I'm excited to earn more of those. Some can only be earned by playing with lots of other people, so I'll have to try out the random group lobbies online.
In the end, this is a game that I feel like I'll like a whole lot more when I play it with two of my friends. I'm glad that Nintendo isn't taking the safe route with a second top down 3ds Zelda and is trying new things, even if I feel they haven't all worked.
As always, the production values are top notch. That's expected at this point.

Yumi has 131 cards, but her collection is a fucking mess. 6 of her SRs were reprinted into URs, and 30 of her cards have GREE/MBGA differences, so there's 21 that are more or less duplicates. By comparison, Homu has 6 and Asuka has none, not counting dress-up events for any of them. So yeah, Yumi's cards have a lot of fluff.
Another interesting thing about Yumi's cards is that her dress-up event is the only one where they didn't divide up the rarities. Asuka, Homu, Bashou and Souji's all have a normal, a rare, an SR, and then two sets of URs. Yumi's dress-up event only has the URs.

I think the best way to accept some of the things that happen with characters in SK is to remember that, with the exception of a few, they're all still teenagers. We all knew the kid who thought they were always right, or always wrong. The kid who thought they were the best at everything or the kid who was left out. The bullies or the bullied. The kids who always seemed to be so goddam lucky it drove you nuts or the kid who had a horrible family life.

And that's the point I'm trying to get across with Yumi, just because she acts the way she does doesn't mean she's a bad character. Sure, you can dislike her for her character, but I don't think it's fair to say that she has no character. It really helped me take a step back and look at her and say "you're so stiff, but why are you?" and try putting things together. The echo chamber really helps accentuate that and definitely can remind people of the less-than-grand people we've dealt with this past year, if you catch my drift but there's still room for growth. Also, I do wonder how faithful translations are, because if I remember correctly I heard some characters come across really nasty in the original raw SV translations people used while playing the JP version
I thought Homura in Nitro+ had to do with her ability to go Crimson, actually, but I don't know a lot about that since Yumi has her own ability now. Maybe it'll come into play with how they happen

Just because other characters are orphans then that means it doesn't matter? So then what about Yomi? Is she a worse character for being an orphan? What about Hikage? Just because they share a similar event in their lives doesn't discredit the fact that that's what made them choose the life they live. Losing your parents or whole family as a kid is really fucked up no matter which way you slice it.
You never see the relationship between Hanzo and Asuka really build up. You're told, as the player, that Hanzo told Asuka to become the sword and shield, and an interaction here or there that doesn't lead to anything besides her trying to find her right path in life. It's pretty bare bones, just like with Yumi and Kurokage. The player is told that Kurokage told Yumi that good and justice is the only right thing to strive for, and that anything else is a hindrance and must be eliminated. You get a couple of interactions here and there in the Hanzo and Gessen stories, and that's it. Once again, it's pretty bare bones but it's there.

The Gessen crew is acting of their own free will. They decided to take up the challenge that Hanzo had delivered to them, they didn't have to. Their motivation is bland, but they end up developing as characters as the story progresses. Each of the Gessen girls learn from their mistakes and grow as characters. Although I will say that Murakumo got the shaft in that regard.

You're going to tell me that Mirai attacking someone just to get a bigger bust is good character development? She also then makes everyone else suffer the same fate as her, and she only comes to apologize after being beat up by Dai. She would have never come clean for that. The SK2 DLC is still the same goofiness that the GH stories provided, but at least I didn't have to pay anything to have side shenanigans in SV.
