Well, I find her relatable. I see a little bit of myself in Asuka
When I started playing Burst, I was a second year student trying to stay in my program. That was fun because they introduce Asuka as a second year student who had criteria to fulfill that's definitely more accurate in the anime, where they mention she passed her exam with the lowest possible score, which was all I wanted in my own life at the time. I felt the pressure, and I found her strength in the face of it to be something I should remember, especially because when I was playing Burst I had very little data and was definitely scared about failing out for not knowing enough.
Also, like her, my path in life was often something I discussed with my grandfather. Asuka's relationship with Hanzo is one that I really felt I could relate to, even if my grandfather wasn't a mentor in my field or a pervert, but was more the person who always believed this path was for me. He passed a few years ago, but the lessons learned stay forever.
In the games, Asuka has to learn what is right for herself, or has to work her mind around orders she doesn't understand until she makes her own decisions, like not killing the Hebijo or finding away around killing Kagura. I admire that, even if the answers she finds are simplistic in idea, because they're definitely harder to carry out. I know I've had hard decisions to make that the simple answer is best, but execution is really difficult.
I love her personality, although she is a bit naïve, and her playstyle is my favorite - a mix of strength and speed that allows me to combo quickly - even if it's considered to be simple.

Homura is a little battle scarred and broken from her life and (despite her reluctance to admit it) Asuka brings a healthy optimism and upbeat attitude to the table which i'm sure Homura would find refreshing and comforting. But Homu being Homu needs to maintain her "badass" composure in front of Asuka (partially because she doesn't want to show any form of what she percieves as "weakness" and partially because Asuka needs Homura's hardness and emotional maturity to balance against her softness and naivety). Together they make a great pair!
Although despite the canon in SKB/2 being that Asuka beats Homu I maintain that Homu was just letting her win

When Asuka and Homu are fighting Dougen and his Orochi and Homura just loses it. She goes pseudo-Crimson and roars at the top of her lungs "DOUGEN! I'M DRAGGING YOU DOWN TO HELL WITH ME!"
That's why I like Homura. Because she had been betrayed once again by someone she trusted and instead of falling to her knees and breaking (like any normal person would) she harnessed her rage and used it as fuel. She wasn't going to give up, she couldn't! Dougen had spat in her face and he had to pay! She was going to destroy Dougen for betraying her and threatening her friends, even if it meant taking the bastard down with her!
I can respect that. Seeing the good in people doesn't always work. Sometimes you need to embrace the animal and crush whatever gets in your way so it can't hurt you or anyone else. We need people like Asuka to ensure the world is a better place in the long run but we also need people like Homura to burn and cleanse so new life can grow.
