Let's think of some new weapons for senran kagura, here's mine.
>Chainsaw
The chainsaw may be already in the series with coatbot, but a senran has yet to wield it as a weapon. You could argue that Yomi has a chainsaw in her sword, but it's not just one solid state chainsaw, no sword.
The saw would be comically huge, around 10 to 13 feet. For a motor, it has to be a massively exaggerated engine, like a v8 or a v12 or a large head v6. The engine shoots fire and revs loudly when attacking. Attacking is as simple as whacking enemies with it, but it would hit a large amount of times to deal damage making it the optimal hitstun weapon. Ninpos would like this: level one is a large multi hit swipe in front of the characer, level two is where the ground get slammed and mini saws come out of the shockwave to damage enemies, level 3 is a steroid in that when activated you form multiple saws around you that are regular size and rotate around you to damage enemies. Your saw then grows to twice its size and you deal more damage, move faster, and acquire more hits per attack. Sprinting with the saw would be as simple as pushing it into the ground, holding onto it, and riding the teeth.
I think it sounds cool.

Oh forgot, the aerial ninpo would be something like javelin rain from the SMT series. The way that works is that a hole is opened up in the sky whether it be a tear in the clouds, portal opening, bag opens, whatever and small saws would fall from the sky. They would not do much damage but they either will explode on impact or bounce once or twice to hit enemies again to make up for the little damage.
Here's more on the saw that I remembered when I went to town.
The saw is a very slow weapon due to the sheer size and weight of it, which is ironic considering the level three ninpo making it bigger and faster. Like Kat and Yo, you can charge it but not the same way they do it. The saw can be charged when striking an enemy to build a meter. This is where things get really crazy. As the bar fills, the saw begins to do several things: visual changes occur in that you have more flames, things rotate faster, saw glows, on a physical level the motor drives faster with each level gained until max which would be around 300% of normal values in that you strike faster, grind harder, do more damage, and most importantly; you build ninpo scrolls to reach level three ninpo and get the steroid so that the person does up to 500% of the regular values. Now this all sounds cool, but there's a catch. The character would have medium health, medium defense, and low to medium attack damage. This is to offset the degree of strength the character would have in her moveset, because the possibility of a 500% damage increase on such a character would let her rival people such as Daidouji, Rin, Jasmine and others. The character would either have to be short like Naraku and Minori to get that comical vibe of little girl, big saw.

I stick with the sai or nunchuck ideas, myself. I just feel a series of swift, close-combat combos, with the sai being more powerful for individual thrusts, while the nunchuck would be more of a combo-laden weapon for a faster senran. As for ninpo, I haven't thought of too much just yet, but I really like this question. Thanks for giving us something to think about

MAN, this is the one thing I hate about playing Chapter 5 of Corpse Party. This bad end route I'm in lasts for SO DAMN LONG. There's some good interactions I haven't seen before but the annoying part of the whole thing is that I have to go through ALL of them again a couple more times to get all the bad ends.
