I actually couldn't fully use the cheat properly because of some minor issues with my setup, but that actually made it more satisfying, as I had to still get a final attack of my own in. I had to laserblade her in the end, and if the cheat fails, there's no failsafe to make that work our in your favour.

Tricking the AI. Basically, she's super aerial. She always tries to be above you. So you need to build an AC that balances tanking and energy conservation, fly all the way to the ceiling, and hope that she gets stuck in a corner while you desperately knife her.

Thing is, the "proper" way to beat her is only in the original console release, not the PSP port I'm playing on my Vita. In that version you try dashing backwards and shooting constantly, to simplify things quite a bit. Though in that one and this one alike, she has infinite energy, allowing her to just fly all that time without having to come down for even half as long as a normal AC. This is actually why the special trick on the PSP version works so damn well, because she'll keep trying to go up and doesn't run out of energy herself.

I would say it's knowing the enemy, personally, and not necessarily a cheat. Her strength lies in air combat, and you're able to turn that into a distinct fault of hers, the inability to adapt.
It wouldn't be cheating if you knew an opponent only grappled, so you made sure to prevent them from getting close. Then again, they wouldn't glitch out…but I'm sticking to it, you learned how she plays, and adapted yourself to it.

Yeah, it's a grey area. Honestly, it goes along with what I often say about speedruns, anything you can do with the controller is fair game by default, you specify what you're not doing in a given run, whether it's not phasing through walls or not grabbing a particular item a normal player would, or picking a character who isn't the fastest just so you can find their maximum. Any debate on stricter rules comes down to arguments about common sense, which don't end.

Then there's also the fact that the plot would be stretched thinner if the focus were expanded too much, which is why SK2's plot was great and why EV's plot is looking good from what I've seen, while SV's plot left a lot to be desired. Speaking of buses, that reminds me of the time when my partner, friend, and I were on our way back from an art museum to the Art Institute in a bus when there was really bad traffic going on. The teacher recommended that we take a shortcut so the bus driver goes along the way but there was a traffic going on there as well so he thought that maybe he could fit the bus through the LA Fitness parking garage with a roof. As he went in the bus hit some signs along the way which showed that it couldn't fit in.
So as dumb as the bus driver was, he kept going in the parking garage anyway hitting some more signs and now some hanging lights came crashing down along the way. Pulverizers all have energy blade arms, but you can easily outdo them in terms of damage if you dodge them well. Besides that they can shoot energy attacks from those blades. However, there are variations that focus more on ranged attacks, and those are the really dangerous ones.

Thing is, this machine was built from trial and error. Since my first AC game was Last Raven, I had to get more beef to take the hits, and then I began to build from there. It all basically naturally formed itself at that point, as I began to grab the heaviest, best performing parts I could think of. These days I also use a lot of quadrupeds and bipeds, but those aren't as consistent in how they're built: METALHEAD-01 only gets minimal, situational changes.
