You can't teach a gender studies major to program as well as someone who actually majored in computers, you need to get girls programming and sticking with it. Exactly. I've often thought that giving jobs to qualified migrants should require a yearly fee that goes towards relevant scholarships for natives. Giving them to unqualified migrants should at least require living wage. After all, minimum wage is only liveable because of government subsidies, migrants should be entitled to a wage high enough to not conceivably need those benefits they aren't entitled to.

I'm saying, from a humanitarian perspective, they don't get the benefits, so instead of getting the minimum wage, they can't be employed for less than the living wage. Minimum wage here is about $9, living wage is about $15, so they basically couldn't exploit cheap migrant labour to drive down the price of crummy jobs.
Offshoring could be dealt with by not including wages below $4 per hour as company expenses, so it doesn't count against their tax bill. A lot of the ways things are set up is essentially subsidising things nobody wants.

More bullshit like always, so now I'll play the last story of SV I've yet to replay to calm down, the Hanzõ story to be specific. After that I'll be ready for EV to hit. I'll skip the Girl's Hearts this time around though…
Honestly, despite it rekindling my hatred for Murasaki and making me cringe at SV-Yagyu again, I did find a lot more things to like that I missed in SV last time around, so I'd say replaying it was a net-positive. For example, the Murasame scene was more powerful than I remembered, Yumi actually gets more development than I'd realised, and besides the clusterfuck of a final chapter the New Hebijo path is actually pretty well-written with only a few parts that really take a plunge though I would've liked it if they actually had the guts to kill the other gals off for real, as opposed to leaving clues implying they survived.

Honestly, my main issue with SV is that the stories are too short individually to really make the most of the new characters. There's also the fact that you will face the other three groups on every path you choose, leaving the game with less room/time to develop the rivalries the way Burst did. What made Burst's storytelling great was that the rivalries all kept showing us a little bit more of both parties as people at every turn. I think EV will fix that though. If not through rivalries it'll probably do so in another way.

I feel like SMT IV is a better entrypoint to the SMT series. It is a lot easier and teaches you things a bit better. Although dungeon crawling is more like nocturne than SJ. SJ is more like classic SMT 1 and 2 with the first person gridlike system. SJ is also difficult where killing you will end the game instantly whereas in SMT IV it's a lot more forgiving. if you die in SMT IV you can still control your party until the rest dies or if you win you just come back with 1hp.
