Mutations really help making abilities stronger and there's some guides online with good advice on what mutations to focus. Play around with the different classes a bit and try to find something you like

Well, I am definitely a very solid S and definitely have very strong affection toward the cruelty of it. I find it actually really nice to see a doujin that tackles Haruka's greatest fear, losing control. Frankly, now that I looked over the doujin again, it's actually better than I originally remember it to me. Doing okay. Played some Dead Rising 1, its a lot harder than I thought. I think I'll stick to just zombie killing and psychopath fights while only getting survivors for PP. Cultists and the convicts make excorting a nightmare. Also watched Cloverfield on DVD, not the new one in theaters. Its okay, nothing special.

It is a fun game, that certainly loves throwing curveballs everywhere. But even though I'm far from powered up in order to get the best ending on my first run, there's something that makes me want to try and get it. It could be because DR2 traumatized me since every other ending in that game but the true one was shit, and I'd rather have an incomplete ending on my first run than a bad one.
How is Red Faction by the way? I've never played any entry in the series, but I heard Guerilla was like a SR2 mod, which is enough to motivate me to play it.

Red Faction 1 is a FPS similar to half life 1. but you can make holes anywhere with explosives. It's nice but flawed and has some goofy and cheesy moments with the story.
there's also RF2 which is ehhh. I didn't like it as much but some people did.
Red faction Guerilla is… kinda like SR2 in the way you take over areas by doing missions. it also uses an updated engine but it still has those goofy rubber band ragdoll physics that SR2 had which makes for good fun.
but you can level ANYTHING. You see a building? throw some bombs and blow it up. wanna fuck up an enemy base? put some mines on a truck drive to it, jump out of the driver's seat, and blow it up. you get the idea.
Pretty much you go to mars to be a miner and then your brother gets killed by the EDF and you join the red faction to rebel and help free mars. From then on it's an open world mars game where you blow shit up and get people to join your rebellion. it also has multiplayer which I haven't touched ever

You can complete the entire story in DR at a low level. I did that at least. Getting Alex's single chainsaws triple booked lasted 2600 zombies. Nabbing atk lvl 3 is all you need because at that point you have enough life to sustain anything, enough inventory space to hold the books, a single chainsaw, and some consumables. The single chainsaw is one of the strongest weapons in the game due to how large its hitbox is. It hits from the upper right above frank's right shoulder, comes down across his whole body, the animation ends with the saw ending up behind his left leg and it when it reaches that point, behind his left knee, it has a hitbox for about 5 frames. The animation repeats as you combo. It is possible to get zombie genocider and get the best ending. It is very hard, but possible. Cultists take 2 hits at level 3 damage. When the convicts spawn, run to the nearest tree and go from solid object to solid object. Their driving ai is horrible which causes them to be avoided easily. The shortcut with saving some girl is invaluable when the convicts spawn. Overtime mode can be completed in 15 minutes with proper routing. However, at a low level, you won't have double lariat, but you will have karate chop and I think cartwheel kick. Both those moves can stun the final boss and make him eat tons of damage fast. DR is a very fun game, and is also very flawed. I love it for the flaws though, it's so much fun.

I beat SMT IV like 4 or 5 times. for each ending. it's just a really nice game to boot into and run around and do quests and shit. I guess it's essentially the skyrim of the SMT series and I don't mean that in a negative light. it's just simple and easy to just pop in, do some stuff, and pop out.
Haven't beaten SJ yet but I really genuinely love it so far. The difficulty is so good, the character interactions is great, the general flow of gameplay feels good, and the general atmosphere is just great. I love everything about it so far. Might be my favorite one.
I beat nocturne only once which I really need to get back into it. It's also another fantastically good SMT game. I would play it more but turning on my PS3 is kind if a pain. I might just emulate it and it would be less of a hassle actually. But it definitely is fucking badass. You pretty much are a high school kid and you get turned into the antichrist and you punch the shit out of everything with badass fucking music playing. It can also fuck you over hardcore with the enemies though.
I've also played side games like personas 3/4, played some of DeSu which is an RTS similar to fire emblem, and soul hackers.
Persona's alright. I can get why people like them. They're just not my thing really. 4 is so different from traditional SMT games. Instead of this sort of gray area story you get what is essentially japanese scooby doo, light hearted and fun. There's nothing wrong with that. It's aesthetically pleasing and pretty fun. But then when you say that it's part of the same game series as nocturne or SJ then it's just weird.
I need to play 1 and 2. Last time I tried to play the translated versions they didn't work properly for me for some reason. I should check that out.

Yeah, you run an RPG tavern and you rope some of your regulars in to helping you outclass the pompous shits in the 5* restaurant down the road who want to buy you out. The battles are old-school turn based that looks like the old Breath of Fire games, and you kill pigs to get pork and truffles or giant cacti to make tequila and you craft food to eat for levels or sell to build your business. It's great, there are some little niggles with the recipes, like you can make every fish but trout and goldenfish into sushi, but things generally make sense, or make enough nonsense to only want to check an FAQ for that one thing.

Oh hell yeah, cooking themed stuff is great and I wish there was more of it in games today. I think it's really fucking cool, I always thought of making a battle manga where everything was cooking based. Like cooking a souffle would be someone's super attack or whatever. Too bad Soma kinda beat me to the punch with that, but that manga/show kicks ass so I can't complain.
It's hard to really find any place the specializes in fish so I'm more than content with cooking my own. I really need try some other types of fish, the only problem I have with fish is that I've had really bad experiences with undercooked white fish when I was young so I'm hesitant to try it out.
