Hey, this seems like a good place to ask. I am running a homebrew virtual tabletop game with some friends and one of them is using Hikage. Now, I never played SK, and I find the wiki to be unhelpful. Right now, the party is fucking around in Japan, so I wanted to know, did Hikage ever kill or get revenge on the gang that killed Hinata? That sounds like a good plot to rig up for some easy random encounters if she hasn't killed them yet in canon.
No.172193
>>172191
>Hikage ever kill or get revenge on the gang that killed Hinata?
Her past is a big blank. Once she finds out Hinata died there's no real information on what she did between that and joining Hebijo.

>>172193
Whelp, so random encounters with old enemies is a go then.
When it comes to the mentality of most gangs, they can never seem to leave their past behind or let people 'leave the life' it seems, so it should make for a good mini-plot or random encounters.

No.172202
>>172199
Yeah, it did have that much information at least. I like the idea of the gang that killed her still holding a grudge against Hikage and taunting her over it. If this HIkage player gives in to the taunting, that will probably trigger a fight and if any of the gang members live or last long enough in the fight to start calling people or a bystander records the fight and uploads it to the internet, that will probably start a hit attempt against her, with the knowledge that she has crazy ninja stuff.
So hit and run with a SMG is what I would do if I was a normal human and I was told to kill someone like that. Flashbangs then bondage or less-than lethal weapon into using knife on her seems like an effective way to shut down a ninja before they unleash nippo on you, at least, by the rules of the game we're playing back.

It's the crimson squad at the moment, yeah, mixed on top of some of my homebrew high dark fantasy stuff.
That and some other random Japanese franchise stuff from time to time, both either as temporary party switches or as antagonist when people get tired of my homebrew villains.
They totally did not abuse magical powers to blow up Heavenly Host for example. Nope. Did not set red ghost bitch on fire. Nope. Didn't happen.

No.172209
>>172207
Since I also read that Haruka forced her father to admit that he was corrupt using her magic and that it wasn't stated if he survived the process or not, I like the idea of him finally getting out of jail and using his business and criminal connections to get revenge on his own daughter.
So I like the idea of making some sort of paranormal squad that was on his payroll that informed him of the existance of shinobi and stuff and he hires them out or something like that to either kidnap her or kill her. Something similar to the PMCs that the absurdly rich use to collect their daughters, wives or sons when they steal a shitton of money and go on a sex tour or something.
I suppose if he knows about shinobis, he could just hire a Hebijo death squad too, but I don't feel comfortable trying to RP anything as GM that I haven't played the game of yet. Since I am PC master race, I can't quite play these games yet.

I would prefer them to keep expanding Mirai's arsenal rather than use the same ultimate ninpo more than once, (Walküre and Wolfsschanze are iconic and have to stay though) but Mirai Schmidt does seem pretty useless. It looks really damn cool, but it knocks enemies away when they get hit by it rather than pulling them for further damage like pretty much every other ninpo does. I've never been able to do enough damage with it to make it worth using up five scrolls.
Maybe in the next game, she can get a flamethrower instead!

Made from blood, huh? Kinda reminds me of the roman larvae/lemures and how they are the shades of the unburied dead. If they are made of blood and blood often caries life energy in most stories, they sound rather undead-like. Or at the very least, made up of the equivalent of the dungeon and dragon's negative energy.
No.172241

I think how it works is they're like an amalgamation of the residual power in shinobi blood and negative emotions. It's also possible to summon larger youma if you know how
No.172242
>>172234
They have pretty much the same literal meaning, but I think the word "youkai" is more associated with Japanese mythological creatures and "youma" is a more general term for monsters or ghosts. I don't actually know though. That's just my guess.

Not made from blood, summoned using blood. Though they do mirror the main cast in movesets, so apparently they have some characteristics of the blood used? How they get the blood is a mystery, maybe it's just collected from battlefields.

Honestly, I already treated the term youkai the same as the greek term 'Daimon' which is a general reference to the natural spirits found in the world, both helpful and hostile and uncaring. Stuff like nymphs and satyrs and the 'gods' of the rivers that aren't really gods, but it get translated the same way people keep translating kami into gods.

No.172262

It's not a text game, it's a ASCII game with a lot of text and a lot of stuff going on in the background. The game stimulate things down to the nerve and body level. So in older versions, the necromancers could literally raise the separated fingernails and hair of people as zombies. It's that autiscally complex, it's great.
It's also very easy to mod cause all you need to need to do is make some text files in notepad++ and follow the tags in the raw sections of the Wiki. I modded in the worms from the worm series of games, suika, NGE angels, yoma from claymore, shit like that.
Hell, it would be possible to create a reaction that could be learned from a god, curse or book that could target the blood of a human and turn it into a SK Yoma.

Dorf fort homolust? Cool. Need to get back into that, haven't played since I burnt out from all the time spent on the My Little Fortress mod.
>>172261
It's game logic frames, not so much rendering frames. Every dorf, animal, plant, patch of fluid asks itself if it can move this frame, where it's pathing to and tracks its state. When you have hundreds of dorfs all thinking about shit, this gets messy and brings CPUs to breaking point. And some mentalists try to drain the ocean to build Atlantis, at which point FPS becomes SPF.

If you need population, it's a pain in the ass, but for those who want a challenge or hate kids, the rate is ten percent, so you could probably do something stupid like run a SJW fort where you kill all the cis-straight scum or whatever.
Just be careful of building taverns or it will fill up with visiting elven dancers, who will probably be infected with some sort of were-disease, so then you will get a werebadger eating everyone in the tavern and then the survivors will all turn into werebadgers.

the vita still has the potential to be a pocket PS2. Sony just has to show they care. Honestly even a little bit. Generally, it's a wake up call to get really good at hit and run while abusing thawing potion to get out of the freeze, even for the melee toons. It's okay. I am a paladin. I also have the freeze aura bullshit (it just can be resisted by cold immune stuff.) And a main attack that hits with fire, cold and lightning damage strapped on. Throw that on a fast weapon that drains mana or gets mana on killing enemies and you become the bane of hordes.

The Versus series has teased Shin for too long now, he needs to be in the next game, even if it is like Burst and the fight against Shin is the only youma fight in the game.
SK2 and EV felt like middle parts to a story, I can see a conclusion coming soon, unless NWs get a spinoff, they do have a lot to offer.Specifically Ayame. What is this past that she is trying to escape also why doesn't she have a guardian animal?
