Reading this book right now, and holy shit, it's fucking stupid already! I have no idea what is going on at any given moment, due to liberal use of japanese words and small details that are thrown in every sentence for the sake of worldbuilding, but which detract from the plot itself.
I must admit, I'm only 50 pages through, but I doubt it will get much better. One-fifth of the book is enough to create a world and characters that are at least somewhat interesting.

OP here. After maybe 100 pages in which the book just got shittier and shittier, I laid it down. Please mind that I've read Atlas Shrugged, every single word of it. I don't often put books aside, but Rim pissed me off enough to do it.
