If you were to write a sci-fi story, how would you write super soldiers? And who are the most well-written super soldiers you know? Been thinking about this again today. This topic has fascinated me since I first heard about it.

A supersoldier needs a few traits. How you achieve them doesn't matter, be it implants, training, technology or even *shudders* magic.

Agility, strength, knowledge, and stamina.

Agility allows for better body control, a soldier can know about every combat technique, but if they can't move for shit they will die in combat.

Strength allows the soldier to be…well…stronger than the opponent. Even if you have know how to best break an enemies neck, you need a certain minimum of force to do it.

Knowledge is power, and if you don't know how to operate a gun, or your enemy, you will die in combat.

Stamina allows the soldier to fight longer. The longer a soldier can fight at max power the more enemies he can take out and the more efficient is his use.

Let's create a super soldier, shall we?

The Kadan Raiders are mercenaries, selling their arms to anyone who has the coin. They Use cybernetic implants to enhance their perception, which allows them to notice an enemy or a projectile far before they reach them and thus allows the mercenaries to react in time.

Constant training and voluntary limb replacement gives the soldiers superhuman strength and stamina, allowing them to fight for days with minimum exhaustion.

Because they begin training and transformation at a very early age, some even being sworn into the cult before or shortly after birth, they spend all their lives training and studying combat and the enemies they might face.

Done.

Ever read Old Man's War? That was a pretty good idea

>In order to study the role of the cytosolic form of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (GTP) (EC 4.1.1.32) (PEPCK-C) in skeletal muscle, PEPCK-Cmus mice were created by introducing the cDNA for the enzyme, linked to the human alpha-skeletal actin gene promoter, into their germ line. Two founder lines generated by this procedure were bred together, creating a line of mice that have 9.0 units/g skeletal muscle of PEPCK-C, as compared to 0.080 units/g in muscle from control animals. The mice were more active than controls in their cages and could run for up to 5 km, at a speed of 20 m/min without stopping (control mice run for 0.2 km at the same speed). Male PEPCK-Cmus mice are extremely aggressive, as well as hyperactive. During strenuous exercise, they use fatty acids as a fuel more efficiently than do controls and produce far less lactate than do control animals, perhaps due to the greatly increased number of mitochondria in their skeletal muscle. PEPCK-Cmus mice also store up to five-times more triglyceride in their skeletal muscle, but have only marginal amounts of triglyceride in their adipose tissue depots, despite eating 60% more than controls. The concentration of leptin and insulin the blood of 8-12 months of PEPCK-Cmus mice is far lower than noted in the blood of control animals of the same age. These mice live longer than controls and the females remain reproductively active for as long as 35 months. The possible reasons for the profound alteration in activity and longevity caused the introduction of a simple metabolic enzyme into the skeletal muscle of the mice will be discussed.

I want this hack.

>how would you write super soldiers

I would recall how real soldiers are trained today, consider the history of a soldier's purpose in war, consider the broader universe in which I'm writing, and then imagine a training/enhancement regimen that would create the ideal super soldier, in the context of ideal performance for that universe, in that universe.
