Your opinion on him? Visually, both District 9 and Elysium have been stunning, the action was decent and they actually came across as futuristic. As for his message, heard it a thousand times already.

I've only seen D9, but I liked it. I didn't care about the message in particular, I was only in it for the cool aliums.

Personally, I think the liquid that hit Wikus was not fuel, it was self-repair nanobots. They entered his body, realized that he was "damaged" and then "repaired" him by turning him into a shrimp. This also explains why such a small quantity of the liquid was enough to power the mothership, despite not seeming to be volatile at all: It was just needed to kickstart the healing abilities of the ship.

I am going to major or minor in film and I am not really a fan of Blomkamp. I feel the heavy handed messages really kinda ruin the movies. He really does not know subtlety.

Yeah, his messages are heavy-handed as fuck. This isn't aspergers anymore, it's kanner-level of needing to spell things out. This don't ruin his movies for me, but I can see why it does so for other people.
