What I've read about "The Dispossessed" did not sound like proper sci-fi. And I'm shocked at the lack of Peter Watts. At least Blindsight belongs on that list.

And while we're at it, has anything worthwhile come out in the dystopia-genre in the last years? Most of them seem to be teenage-stories. According to a friend of mine, "The Hunger Games" is actually a decent dystopia, but she's a commie so I don't trust her taste.

Strange, I don't even think of it as sci-fi, even though it totally is. It was an interesting read.

The Hunger Games was okay. It's about on-par with most teenage-stories, and I understand the need for YA sci fi for a young female audience.

But it pales in comparison with A Boy and His Dog. I know it really isn't fair to compare the two, but that doesn't stop it from being true.
