I have noticed a pattern and would like to get more datapoints. I first noticed this pattern around 2011, and have not seen it violated since, but I have also only seen a new example once in the past year. The pattern is this: people who use the old pre-sculptie luskwood furry avatars (and actually any furry AV made before sculpties) are insufferable twats. Every time I've met one it's been like a 4chan parody of someone with a persecution complex.

The most memorable event was of someone teleporting an old friend in to meet their new friends. The luskwood wearer (LWW) entered wearing a diaper and a pacifier. Obviously, this fellow received immediate ridicule and promptly began to argue with those present that it was completely normal and healthy for him to enjoy being babied. After leaving, LWW informed the person that had teleported him in that "teleporting me there was strike one". Fortunately, he had the sense to sever all contact with LWW after that.

Other memorable instances include informing me that I am toxic because I made a fart joke, numerous instances of sperging out over a video game reference, and in one instance, a frothing rage over someone using a newer version of the same avatar as them (they were using a gen 2 Thel and bumped into someone wearing a gen 3).

Have you met someone wearing a pre-sculpties avatar that wasn't hilariously retarded? Have more cringetastic stories to tell? Have any amusing theories to explain this phenomenon? Discuss.

A lot of the non-furry pubbies I know also hang onto old avatars (in this case an LL avatar with a specific skin and wardrobe) out of emotional attachment to them as well. But they're not insufferable twats at any higher a rate than any other pubbie.

My theory is that the insufferableness of luskwood avatar wearers is more closely related to being furries than to being luddites who are stuck in the past.

Anyways, a pretty recent encounter. Idling in one spot in my giant crocodile/aligator/Sobec avatar. Soon a guy in a horrendous lizard avatar shows up. I check out his profile and he had been playing the game for 9 years and had not upgraded from a pre-sculpt avatar. He was just saying he was getting eady to upgrade his avatar to a daenotaur body, yet he couldn't understand how the deformer works, or do any texturing.

He complained about how it won't work unless he kept the daenotaur head until I told him to just drag and drop the scripts into his inventory and into the new head. He kept saying it wasn't working, so I told him he had to do it in a sandbox. Well he did it, after an hour, and he was in an ugly blank texture and green tint daenotaur body.
